haltech e6k

My friend recently sold his Mp3 and purchased a DSM with an e6k as the fuel computer. I was wondering if anyone knew what cable is used to connect a laptop to the haltech. I figured it was probably a serial cable but i want to make sure.

Yeah, It's a serial cable. You can always convert the serial cable to USB if you don't have a serial port.

Thanks spicy, i have a serial port on my laptop, so i'm good to go, i'm gonna use the serial cable from my printer to hook it up, i just have to download the software off haltechs website.

Me and my friend have never tuned a car before, so we are just gonna datalog and play around with the software until we can get a wideband and hopefully start making some changes to the maps. The car right now is running a basemap i believe, so it obviously needs to be tweeked.


IF anyone in the NY area (Long Island to be more specific) wants to help us out, we'd greatly appreciate it.
