So guys my gf is wanting to buy me something sweet for my 21st coming up. I think I may want the h&r lowering springs. I was just wondering what problems I would run into if I got these? Everything on my car is stock.
Please give me some info of what I would need to make this work.
Thanks guys!

Sorry i just posted this in the wrong section lol :(

I don't think you should see any problems with the H&R springs with everything else being stock, lower that MS3!!

Something sweet as in awesome, or as in cute/heartfelt? Lowering springs don't immediately come to mind as a "sweet" gift -- more like teddy bears or photo albums :p

Anyhow, problems you might run into with H&R's shouldn't include rubbing, esp with stock wheels. However you'll end up with a host of other problems, like harsh and bouncy ride, decreased suspension travel which ultimately limits grip, and premature failure of your dampers. If this is worth the aesthetic improvement of lowering the car, go for it.

Be prepared to upgrade your shocks.

Sweet meaning awsome lol.
And I;m guessing dampers are fairly expensive?
I think I read here once that in the long run coils would work out cheaper?
But wouldn't coils be a more harsh ride than lower springs?

You would not have any problems with rubbing on H&Rs and stock wheels. I have both stock and 18x8s with a much lower offset. Only rubbed one time, with the car loaded down on a serious dip. also only rubbed on the driver rear tire. stock rims tuck under more anyway.

You could go the coil route but it is more expensive for good coils. most say that you get what you pay for and they usually start around 900. The springs are kinda bouncy on certain roads, but really feel fine most of the time. It has also been said that stock shocks are not really meant for lowering springs. I understand that and plan to upgrade my shocks to konis (maybe coils though). The way i see it, get springs for now (especially since its a gift), and later get the shocks. Just my thoughts. good luck
