GT spec rear bars

hi guys, i've been lurking this board for quite some time but haven't joined till now as i've pretty much found answers to questions i've had by just reading. until now that is.....question is i'm looking at getting some rear support bars from gt spec. now i like a stiff suspension but would like to maintin streetability and not be too stiff....my question is...is it better to go with the trunk brace or for the v brace underneath to stiffen up the rear? i wan't to keep my stock sub in place therefore the rear strut bar is out of the question...any help would be appreciated. thanks.

without the rear strut brace, you won't be able to install any of the other trunk bars. (except the bumper support bar, which wouldn't do much on its own) that leaves you with the v-brace set-up.

also, as far as a stiff chassis is conerned, you can never be too stiff. the stiffer the body / chassis, the easier it is for your suspension to do its job.

I had every GT-Spec part on my MP3, except the full trunk cage....

The V-brace and reinforcement panel is nice. If you are looking to stiffen up the rear without going crazy, I would suggest these 3 things.

AXR Clunk-fix Brackets
GT Spec Reinforcement Panel & V-brace bars
AWR trailing links.

^^^ I had this setup on the MP3 and loved it... Then I went crazy and installed the rear strut bar, k-sport coilovers, etc. etc.....

well the reason i didn't want it too stiff is because i've already had to replace the windshield due to a stress crack.....i'd like to have minimal body flex but stiffen up the rear since the front has both a sway and strut bar....that's why i was wondering if the trunk brace would be more effective or the v brace underneath vs. going with both.....

i was under the impression the trunk brace for the speed would work w/out the rear strut brace as the bars that are on either side hook up to the plates on either side of the sub enclosure........

Im currently running ground control with stock tockicos....

I have the gt spec front x brace, gt spec front tie, gt spec 4 pt trunk cage, and awr trailing links...With this setup my car feels planted to ground with very little body movement and is very predictable in hard cornering.

My future plans are to to get the axr rear clunk fix and better front strut bar...
