okay, well i know this has been discussed over and over and over. i just wanted to make this section so everyone can post up their version of how they grounded their motor. so please, anyone with pictures of their motor (protege 5's, sedan's, ms protege's, heck even other cars) post it up so we can all get an idea of how to do this and do it right. also, write something brief so that we know what was connected to what. thanks for your time! - chris

cool dude. btw, isnt it kind of dangerous to leave your positive terminal uncovered? thanks for the pic - chris

(flamesuit equipped) What is the point of these ground wires? Dont they come grounded from the factory? I hear all about this but never asked.

its supposed to give you 30 hp or something, cheaper than turbo, but doesnt make the co0L whooosh sound, hehehe

=0P

Hehee! Mine added about 3hp according to the ever-so-reliable GTech meter. It seemed to smooth out idle, and allow me to switch on accesories without excess alternator strain. (IE, lights dimming, etc...)

As a side note, 1st MP3 in NH makes a killer grounding kit that you should ask him about. ;) *blatent plug for the NH crowd*

I did my own, but I'm thinking about redoing it due to wanting to use a better crimper, and shortening the lengths of cord some more.

Craig's (1st MP3 in NH) Kit:

I certainly dont think that grounding kit would work on my car smithers, that one wire you have is too close to the exhaust manifold. But good job, did you do it yourself?

craig (1st) and i have been discussing this for quite some time....something tells me most wires in my engine bay will be replaced.

there are the basic setups, then there are the way over the top setups (mine when i get around to it). i'm like replacing (at the moment) 6 original wires and adding 5 of my own....i'm sure those numbers will increase
