Mazdaspeed Protege
ok so im ready to go ahead and hook up my type s bov and intake on the speed. i was only wondering if it mattered what direction it is facing. also do i need to connect the the second vaccum source on it. you know the diaganol one. if seen other setups that just left that one open. thanks for hte help.

The direction matters. The bottom goes on the pressure side, and the side outlet goes back into the intake, or to the atmosphere.

You don't need the second source, but if you want you can hook it up, it has to be a source from before the throttle body. There is an unused nipple on the stock intercooler that you could try. I never tried it but it should work.

^^ I think he ment which direction the outlet is facing. Wether the outlet faces the drivers side vs passenger side makes little difference.

If you're venting to atmosphere, having the BOV face the driver's side will be a louder sound than having it face the passenger side.

If you're recirculating then just have it face the direction that allows for the least amount of bends/turns in your recirculatory tube. This will vary with your intake set-up.

LOL... yeah, I'd assume he meant which direction of the venting.

Shouldn't matter... I'd try to make it aim neither up or down just for water sake.

GReddy BOV question

Hey guys i just bought a mazdaspeed protege, I heard when you install BOV's it causes the car's idle to drop and eventually stall. If I were to purchase this GReddy Type s, the BOV has the function to recirculate the air so i won't stall? Please let me know. Thanks guys!

Yes, you can recirculate the Type-S. You can either get a reducer hose, or buy the optional 19mm adaptor that screws into the Type-S outlet so you can run a 3/4" hose directly to the intake.

yes but not on stock pipes! make sure you upgrade the piping before buying a blow off valve. and welcome to the forums!
