Hey guys i jus purchased a injen cai and a greddy rs bov to pair with it. I am recirculating it back to the intake for stalling issues that all of you are aware of and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it sounds like when it goes off when it is being recirculated. I have heard them when they are venting off into the atmosphere but never while being recirculated. I have tried to do some research on the matter myself within the forum but came up short when it came to describing the sound the bov makes. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. Thanks Folks
PS. If anyone has a clip of the greddy rs going off while being recirculated will be great.

ima try take a vid tomorrow im recirculating mine, it turkey mostly with a little psssh

aye thanks i really appreciate it...i never really heard the turkey in my car but i guess with the cai it will get louder...i jus hope that the turkey or the recirculation doesnt kill the bov sound too much, i like the sound they make

if your looking for the pshhh sound then recirculating is not the way to go.

Man...i would really like to hear jus a lil bit of pssst...but hey if i have to recirculate in order not to stall it is a good trade off. I am hearing alot of mixed answers tho, with people saying there will be a sound and there wull not be a sound? I dont kno what to beleive...lol...i guess i just have to wait until next week to find out.

well if you really want to hear it open vent just for a lil bit, have it open vent and close up the hole from the intake (i.e. use like cork or something) then adjsut your bov so you won't get heavy stalling, drive around and you'll hear how it sounds, i don't recommend leaving it like this because your car will stall if you go from a high speed to a low speed quickly

i have the hiboost fmic kit. overall its a nice kit. the only issue it has is one pipe is too short so u have to use an extra long silicone connector.

Im surprised some of the guys running a recirculated RS are hearing any sound from it. I have the RS & its recirculated; I never hear anything from the BOV. Especially over the loud ass turkey. I did vent it just to hear what it sounded like & all I really got was the turkey + a long psssshhhh after. So yeah, I would like to hear a sound clip to compare with my RS.

I've been running open RS forever. And the type S before ,it's not hard to watch your Rpm's and barely tap the gas as your coming to a hard stop after speeding a little. And you dont have to do it all the time...

Don't downshift cuz its pointless anyway and watch your Rpm's. 99% of the time I'm not watching my Rpm's coming to a hard stop or a soft stop. The car has an automatic restart thing to sometimes it'll stall for a tenth of a sec and then start up by itself. but thats if you dont take the half a second to tap the gas which isnt difficult. And it's not EVeRYTIME you come to a stop, it's only sometimes that the car will almost stall.

***also, recirculating feels alot slower at least to me. It feels smoother but a loss of power. And all you hear is TURKEY. And just for info., you don't really need to WORRY about blocking off the intake extension pipe to run an open BOV.you should but I forgot to put my little intake extension blocker piece on so air can't get out, and the car ran perfect... i wasnt speeding at all but it ran and idled perfect. Like I didnt kno it was off and thought nothing of it. You should block it off but it's not like the car is gonna start acting crazy. *Just for Information

and when i run it recirculated, all i hear is turkey and nothing else... and since it feels slower, I can't have a recirculated MSP.

Open vented the RS BOV just says PSHHHHHHHHHHH. but a quick pSHHHHHHHHH .No crazy sounds like a Type-S. Because it's made that way to hold boost while racing Etc. It's actually a really good designed BOV but if your going for only SOUND then you should go for a GReddy type-S or a HKS SSQ.

The type-S is one of the BEST sounding BOV's ever. Especially on a MSP.

I have the greddy RS recirculated and all I hear is the turkey. When I didnt have it recirculated it sounded like PSSSSHHHHHHHHH. All i know is that the car runs alot smoother with it recirculated, even tho you can adjust the greddy-rs so that you wont stall out. I didnt notice any power increase with it set as a BOV, only thing good about it is no turkey sound. I also noticed when i had it as a BOV the car ran alot louder... more engine noise. Not sure why but when I recirculated it back into the intake it wasnt as loud. So i just keep it recirculated for the time being.

I have rs recirculating with my wagner fmic and i have never had a problem with turkey, never heard it before on this fmic. It sounds really nice. lemme see if i can get a video of it.

I'm wondering if you guys are getting turkey on your hiboost because the recirc line is quite smaller than mine. my fitting is the one thats 32mm.
