Greddy BOV Type S

yeah i dont know why people say they cant hear their BPVs...I have the stock BPV and I get a nice sound out of it...It doesnt sound like one of those ridiculous whistles blowing off that most people have...my stock actually sounds pretty cool...like the doors on star trek opening...i shift and its like tchksssss...

I hear a sound when i shift ... I just know that is not the Greddy. and i also know is not the turkey ... Thats weird .. right? ... Anyways i took it to the mechanuc and told me that he does not think it can be done without expending some serious money ... but the he said he was gonna as a buddy of him that knows how to to stuff i an inexpensive way! so ... wish me luck!!

Something else that might be helpfull to understand better is that when the car is in idle ... if i unplug the big hose in picture #2 it will still whistle even when I am not applying any gas to it ... Do you think is leaking? ... If not can you please tell me how to "replace the stock intake". Once again I am sorry for my ignorance ... but i think i am learning a lot from you guys .. I appreciate your help!

Yes your BOV is leaking. You have it set too loose, thus you get the whistling noise at idle. That whistling noise is the air escaping the BOV. It is basically like a big vacume leak. You can solve this by simply:

1 - spraying some WD40 into the valve or using some grease in there to make it easier for the valve to open and close.

and

2 - tightening your BOV spring rate. Losen the nut at the top of your BOV, put in a hex screw and turn it to the right to tighten. You will need to tighten it down quite a bit to prevent stalling when you drive it. Tighten it down over and over till you get to the point where when driving and letting off the gas you still get the whistle and not the turkey sound (compressor surge). This should give you the sound you are looking for while still closing fast enough to prevent the car from stalling out.

I've been running this way for about 3 years with varying boost levels from 4-12 psi.

If you then choose to go back to recirculating your BOV you will need to loosen it up quite a bit to prevent compressor surge.
