so as the title says, ive got fuel cut. which i thinks weird since its never been an issue till i put the TBE on. i didnt think that just the TBE will cause fuel cut? the mods are turboXS tbe. RPMC turbo inlet. Injen CAI. HKS bpv. but since the install, the cars developed fuel cut in WOT. it cuts off like its hitting a wall then will continue in WOT it will usually do it 2-3 times depending on how long im in WOT. since ive gotten the TBE im looking into a front mount now then was planning on going with the cp-e standback system since i feel like the accessport just isn't going to be up to par with the goals i have for the car. so this brings me to the fuel pump now... am i better off going with cp-e fuel pump or will just the upgraded internals be fine? give input cause i'd like to make the purchase pretty soon as its pretty annoying having this problem. thanks in advance.

Fuel cut or boost cut? If your hitting a wall it's boost cut. Not the same thing but related. Your fuel pressure will drop off too when this happens, (at least mine did according to my dashhawk readings.) Fuel cut will be more of a sputter. Yes, a TBE or DP/RP catless will cause this. I went through the same thing with my TurboXS stealth DP/RP too. Never had issues before, It's definitely very annoying I agree. Fuel pump internals plus map clamp/MBC will address the issue for most...I have a brand new set of cdfp internals fo sale, PM me if interested.

That is NOT fuel cut that is Boost Cut. If you boost past 17.9 for a few secs your car will CUT. This is intentional.

Typically you will not need FP internals until you are pushing more mods with a serious tune. My stock FP held just fine until I started getting a custom tune and only then did my FP drop below 1400 after shifts.

You are simply hitting Boost Cut and the only way to deal with it is a Boost Cut Defender (Which I don't recommend), Map Clamp (Which I did a How To on this site), Cobb AP, or CPE SB.

ok i have the ap and i get what i thought was fuel cut, but from what your saying im gettin boost cut. so cancel my internals for my fuel pump and........do what

If you are overboosting (getting boost cut) then you need to try another map. AP maps are geared around 19PSI. If you are getting boost cut, then you are boosting above 22PSI I believe it is and holding for longer than a second. Thus you hit cut.

If this is the case, then you're simply running a map that is not good for your mods and need to try another map. Boost cut is violent, fuel cut is like sputtering. If you have ever ran out of gas you will know that your car does not just die, it sputters to a stop. Same goes for fuel cut. It is a sputtering sensation as the car is starved of fuel.

Try another MAP. What are your mods and what map are your currently running? Keep in mind there are overboosting issues from some Catless DP's.

Would getting a boost controller help this? Just keeping it under 17.9psi?

If you got an MBC and keep the boost below 17.9 then you will be fine. The only issue is that 17.9 in 5th and 6th will be lower in 3rd and 4th usually. But overall you will be happy with it and no Map Clamp will be needed as long as you keep the boost below 17.9.

The only other issue is that 17.9 will vary based on Temp as well. So you might get cut from time to time.

well the problem im having IS more of a sputter. cause ive been in cars thats had boost cut and its felt nothing like this. im probably better off investing in a dashhawk (something i should of done a while ago) the way i see it, i cant go wrong with fuel pump internals anyways and go from there. thanks for the help and info bud!

i have cobb sri and cobb turbo inlet with both of my resos cut off the factory exhaust.. im running the map with 93 octane and cobb sri

Well the description of "it cuts off like its hitting a wall" is boost cut. Sputtering is softer hesitation type feeling, not hitting a wall, slamming you forward type of cut.

You can't go wrong with internals, however that money can be better spent somewhere else on another mod until you actually need internals.

well i was using "hitting a wall" as a figure of speech, it's not like cutting out and slamming me into my steering wheel or anything, haha. it's cutting out and you can DEF tell its a fuel cut. im going with the standback so internals should be worth the money.

i talked to a certified cobb tuner, and he says that if u have a tbe, intake, and anything more than that u need a fuelpump upgrade for the car to run right,, and a highflow cat is highly recommended so that you dont get boost creep.. a clamp will help with you boost cut, but once ur boost oes up u need more fuel to support it, and the stock pump cant hadle it.. get a fuelpump upgrade, internals are sufficient,, then u can get a clamp, but u should talk to ur tuner, cause sum tuners can delete the boost cut thing.. get a ligit tune, ur always better off
