Good seat covers for CX-7?

Does anyone know of any good seat covers for the CX-7? I have never bought seat covers so I am fairly clueless as to what brands are the best. I really like the look and feel of the neoprene-type seat covers. Anyone have any experience with these? Most importantly I want to buy seat covers that fit the CX-7 perfectly. We are expecting our first baby in a month or so and I want to get my sand cloth seats covered before the lil' bugger has a chance to make his mark on them. Any help would be great, links, suggestions, etc.

Thanks,
Eric

I didn't think you were supposed to put seat covers on seats with airbags in them.

I believe there is a sticker on the door jamb that says something like that. If I remember tonight after work I'll take a pic.

You've got to really hate your seats for fork over that kind of money for seat covers.
Actually I really like my seats...that's why I want to get a nice seat cover for the back seat to avoid stains from assorted baby bodily fluids (nana) Kids can do a number on tan/sand colored cloth seats.

I think I'll call Wet Okole to see if they are/have made a cover for the CX-7 rear seat yet. I have heard great things about that brand.

What kind of seat covers are you looking for??

You have seat covers that are universal that slide over the originals than you have seat covers that replace the originals. Wet okole replace your originals.

This means that you have to remove the original cover and slip on the new ones. If you are planning on doing this just to save the originals from stains you are better off applying scotch guard.

Take it from me its not an easy job. I did mine 3 years ago it took me 2 days and I will not recommend it to anyone. It requires a lot of time and effort. It would have been a better idea to pay 200 and have them installed but leather interior is not cheap so I did it myself. Once the baby grows up trash them.

What i'm saying is that the amount of money that you are going to spend to purchase seat covers and maybe have them installed just to save the seats from a bit of a mess from a new born is not worth it in my opinion.

If your goal is to only to protect them from the baby then I think you should just buy universal ones from walmart or something. Or spray scotch guard. It works really well, i do this on the car carpet all the time.

Well the back seats don't have the airbags so you should be able to get any old cover or even just throw a blanket under the car seat. By the time the little one is out of the car seat someone should have some good and inexpensive seats specifically for the cx-7.

cover king neoprene

Hi,

I have a Sport with cloth black & gray seats. I also like the seats and look, but wanted to protect them from wear and tear (dogs & kids), so I ordered and just installed the covers from Cover King.

I got black & charcoal (to match the interior) neoprene for my front seats at $220.00. They say that the material is what they make wetsuits out of - it's not quite, but close.

I must say that they are very high quality, custom made for the CX-7 and fit like a glove. 3 pieces for the front buckets include seat pan cover, seat back cover and headrest cover. They are very tight fitting, so very little bunching and have a flap installed to accomodate the seat airbags. You just pull them on over the seats, like a second-skin.

Seat backs have a huge pocket for storage. They feel really nice and are far better looking and much more durable than the OEM seat material.

I'm going to order a set for the back soon - well worth the price.

I'll post a picture or two soon.

I ordered them through these guys (http://www.car-truck-accessories.com/)
At the time I got free shipping,

BTW, they take about 4-5 weeks from time of order because they are custom sewn for the model.

good luck,

john

cover king seat covers

okay,

I took a few pix. The sky was kinda cloudy, so the color is a little off.

They are black with charcoal inserts...anyway, you get a pretty good feel for the fit, look and quality. Went on in 10 minutes with straps under seat. Seat back just pulled down and has a velcro fastening strip that feeds thru seat bottom.
