Dont drive beside your friend if he has a loud american sports car, unless you want a C&R for him spinning the tires. Yes, tonight I was leaving a stop light at like granny speed with my friends high 12 sec SS Camaro beside me and he hit the throttle and spun a little wheel. Well next thing I know im getting a ticket for careless and wreckless because the cop said I was "looking for a street race" My friend got one also because there must have been two unmarked cops rolling together. He said I spun too, and I was just like if you say so. This is the first ticket I have ever gotten that I really didnt deserve... Oh well, all those time I didnt get caught, have caught up to me(dunno)

Fight it if you want, I never fight tickets, its dishonest unless you seriously did not deserve it.

Oh I will, it will cost me about 300 dollars in lawyor fees, but it will be dropped and no insurance increase is worth 300 dollars

You didn't do anything.. FIGHT IT. Fight it hard. I'm sick and tired of hearing people get ***** for stuff they didn't do.

what and cops are honest all the time .......NO

I have had three tickest and they were all my fault, but I have never been pulled for someone else spinning, I was quite suprised

Fighting a ticket is not dishonest. It is the most stripped down version of our Criminal Justice system. Guilty people still put on a defense.

He might have heard my Turkey and thought I was chirping tires. Cause eveyone knows proteges dont come turbo.....

that's just wrong... you shouldn't get penalized for something you didn't do. especially if you started off granny style like me.

Oh well, my word against his, so I just have to get a lawyer, thats how they get their quota I suppose, pull those that look guilty. And now even if I didnt spin my tires, im GUILTY untill proven INNOCENT.

Definitely fight it...you should win no problem because you didn't do anything wrong.

It would be hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you did something you didn't do.

God that sucks! I would fight it..... but that's just me. I'm so freakin paranoid when it comes to cops.... I do nothing remotely illegal when one is near me.... they just make me nervous. I guess it's because of all the times my father has threatened to take away my car when I get my first ticket :(

it should cost less than $300. a guy in houston does traffic violations for $100... goodluck with the fight.

stop saying that s***, practically giving up already and fight the god damn thing.

I recommend fighting it. If it's your first offense, the judge will usually go easy on you. I never "Just Pay" a ticket....that is plain stupid because there is always a chance og doing better in court. Here in MD, if you don't get Probation you will usually always get a reduced fine or reduced points. And if the cop doesn't show up to court, you are automatically Not Guilty.

Are you sure you want to get a lawyer? At the arraignment hearing, you have the chance to tell your side of the story, while the policeman is not present and they simply read off his report. I have plead "no contest" before and ended up having the ticket dropped. No lawyer required for this - you will likely have the fine reduced, but not as likely it will be dropped altogether.

If you plead innocent, then you have to show up at court and shell out the $300 for the lawyer. Greater chance the ticket will be dropped, but costs 300...

No, its your right. You don't just go there to "fight" a ticket. They will usually reduce it. Remember, you are basically pleading guilty at that point. You ARE innocent until PROVEN guilty.

My biggest issue is that many of the local PD's are using tickets, like this, as revenue. For example: We were testing the fixes on my friends FD one night. I got 50 feet from the 55 mph zone(I was traveling in a 45mph zone) and went from 20-60 to make sure the boost was holding properly(there where SERIOUS vacuum leaks on this car). Next thing I knew there where 6 local cops surrounding me(there are only 7 in this small-ass town).

I had already pulled over because I was looking for a place to turn around. They TRIED to charge me with doing 70 in a 45(2nd gear doesn't go to 70, it goes to just under 65), evading arrest, not wearing my seatbelt(I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt, this time was no exception), expired tags(still had 1 more month on this car), and a few more(I can't remember the rest). The other one I DO remember is when I asked "Where are all the other patrol cars here?" He asked if I was threatening him and wrote me a ticket for assult an officer.

Needless to say, I did none of this. I got out of everything except for doing 5 over in court. Yeah, they gave me a ticket for 5 over. They gave me the "option" of taking 2 points and a $50 fine or $200 and no points. I took neither. I fought it too, and won. Why? Because all they wanted was the money from the ticket. The insurence companies now see warnings too and will raise your rates on warnings, so I'll argue EVERYTHING.

There's also a chance that the cop won't show up, which the ticket will be thrown out.

This is NOT dishonest, its your RIGHT. EVERYONE should fight tickets, then they won't give BS tickets like this because the court would be too full.
