Going Catless

Just need some input on going catless.
Had the car for a year, and previous owner had removed second cat and resonator. Installed a resonator since then.
For the heck of it, been wanting to free things up and remove that remaining cat.
For those who have done it or know of it:
Should i expect a rediculously loud car?
Best way to get around CEL after losing main cat?
Any issues it might cause with unichip?
thanks in advance.

no it won't be much louder, sparkplug antifouler, only if you get a CEL from the o2 sensor

or

b) buy a proper downpipe with a cat and don't worry about it.

well i was catless and i put on my ghl DP w/the cat because my car was ridiculous..waaaay 2 ****** lound.. i dont mind a nice rumble but my car catless was just overpowering..especially on the highway.. pick up the GHL DP..replaces the s+J pipe and u get the midpipe and u can get it w/a hi flo cat.. wont be too loud and u can still pass emissions

To me, the sound of your exhaust is tied in to the muffler canister. I have been catless and have a Greddy SP2 exhaust system. Its not loud at all, except when you whomp on it. And I used the Help Antifouler trick to eliminate the CEL, which took a long time to appear.

I had my cats removed a couple weeks ago. Not too much sound, it's a little deeper and I can notice it more in the higher gears but not all that different. My CEL came on of course, but I fixed that with the nonfowler in front of the O2 sensor and then I reset the ECU. After that my gas milage was back to normal and the light went off imediately. But you want to get rid of the CEL fast because it has a negative affect on your gas milage.
