Clint Malarchuk took a hockey skate to the throat and got a 6 inch opening to his carotid. He still managed to skate off the ice. They were showing that on "I Love the 80s" this weekend. That was bad, too.

Joe Theismann. He has a good restaurant 4 blocks from work. :)

he asked how bad the cut was when they finaly rushed to help him. they said really bad. he asked cani die? they said yea.
he said fine, help me up. he then skated off the ice to the gurney and they wheeled him away.
later in the papers they asked him why he wanted to skate off the ice. he told them that he was a hockey player. he was there to play and not lay on the ice.

It was this accident that had the NHL goalies add the throat protector to their masks.

I remember watching that live on TV...brutal.
