GM memo urges dumping Chevrolet's 'Chevy' nickname

I guess I am biased, but most of the newer Chevrolet, yes I said Chevrolet, Car and trucks are leaps and bounds better than anything they have produced in the past. I currently own two newer Gen Chevrolet's and they both are very nice all around. I would put chevrolet, in its class against anything comparatively equipped and priced any day right now.

I still love some Mazdas, but get real guys and quit bbeing typical Fan Boi's.

Fixed ;)

they are getting better, yes...

with that said, I'd probably buy a new ford before I purchased a new chevy. say what you will about the mustang and the fusion.. they are both fine cars.

I'd especially buy the new focus 5 door coming out in the spring..

Yes "Chevy" is getting better. All companies are getting better, so is Ford, they are supposed to, it's called progression and innovation. But that's "Chevy's" problem, the competition isn't exactly staying still, and I don't see anything with "Chevy" written on it I'd ever buy regardless of who owns it or what they call it. I wouldn't even by the Vette. If had the money for a Vette I'd buy something else better anways. I want them to stick around, but only for the economy, and competition to keep prices fair.

I'm kind of hoping they pull off their reinvention as well. there was a point in time where they did make good cars, so certainly they were capable of it. there have been marked improvements as of late, and they killed off some brands that didn't need to exist.

However, they dug their own hole. They took a reactive stance in the marketplace, and their cars were always 5 years behind the competition. That's the core problem they need to address. I've seen some signs of life, but they still have a lot of work to do.

Trimming the fat was just the first step.
