Former racing driver Tony Gillet has been building stunning high-performance sports cars for nearly 16 years. At the auto show here, he is unveiling his Gillet Vertigo 5 perhaps the most stunning version yet of this slick coupe.
The Belgian company shoehorns a 4.0-liter V6 from Alfa Romeo under the low hood. The Vertigo 5 features an ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber honeycomb monocoque, and the body looks like it was carved in the wind tunnel. Acceleration from zero to 60 mph comes in a blistering 3.3 seconds.
For a select handful of customers, the Vertigo 5 can be obtained for $265,000.
