GI: MSP Tubular Mani / Downpipe

Just to make this clear, since people seem to use the term pretty generically, but by "downpipe" do you mean the S-pipe that comes off the turbo? Or do you mean the J- & mid-pipe?

I really need a catted downpipe at least 2.5" as soon as possible that doesn't require extending the O2 wires.

Thanks.

The "Down" pipe for our cars is the S pipe literally, it depends who you're talking to whether or not the J pipe is included. according to corksport, it is, but many midpipes include the J pipe section as well.

yea in my case its the S&J as one piece. the 2 piece design requires more welding and a flange. I dont want to do that as it creates a place to leak and more places to break.

and a 1 piece is more free flowing :)

Unless we are talking about a swimsuit on a female, then i would be at the topless beach. :)

if you are replacing both though then be sure to put a flex pipe in there somewhere cause without motor mounts that puts a lot of stress on that pipe

my suggestion for the downpipe is (if possible) make the j-pipe closer to a 45 with the ground rather than a 90 like stock...that way you can make a straight(er) connection to the s-pipe and throw the flex pipe in there

some news:

After the OCC meet i will be sending my parts off to be made. i will have to do revisions and such but i hashed out a few details.

Bracing will still be a priority on all units. Downpipe will have bracing to the engine (where stock one went, but will account for mfg differences).

Wall material will be thicker than thunder mani. This will aid in stress fracture prevention.

I will also consider a flex addition. I will see about cost on this and get back to everyone.

Another downpipe besides the GHL and CS is long overdue. Thanks for putting this together man. I can't wait to see this.

u cant even get the GHL anymore they went under, so the only option besides going to a shop yourself is corksport.

I was ready and had the money to buy the full GHL exhaust, then found out they no longer exist.
