a one off part from any reputable carbon manufacturer will cost you more than you want to spend, guaranteed. you know how they want five committs before they start on any serious design? don't be surprised when they ask you to cover four of them. it's a ton of work (speaking from experience) and it's never worth it for just one.

I don't think people realize how much work it is and how much carbon fiber actually costs...

carbon is expensive, yes, but its the labor that gets you. making a part from scratch is a 3 or 4 step process - and making the plug and mold are both harder than pulling a part from them. 1 grand for a custom part is not bad at all.

yup. It's different for smaller parts. When you're talking about a complex part like the MSP lip, 1 grand is actually a great price.
