GI: Intercooler Sprayer

As the title says I am wondering if anyone would be interested in an intercooler sprayer. We installed it on my car today and have noticed pretty good gains. The boost now spikes to 9 psi and drops off to 6 or so. There is no need to use the factory windshield bottle and wipers. The system is completely stand alone and only operates when you press on the throttle 3/4 of the way. There is a main switch to turn it on during the summer. As with most other sprayers out there you don't need to pay attention to holding the button down or try to figure out how many times to spray. This system is designed to spray only when you are racing.

PM for further details

This will work for any intercooler. Were waiting for final prices on all the pieces but right now it should be around 130 US plus shipping

Wow..My N2o setup was cheaper! Including the cost to fill my bottle lol.

HOw can you justify. $130..

The Microswitch(AKA WOT Switch)..only costs about $20 on ebay..

(notcool)

Unless you mean $130 Can which is about $75 us..which is reasonable for a system like this!

For the 80 billionth time. Go to NAPA, buy a 40 dollar universal COMPLETE windshield washer kit. Aim nozzel at IC. Done

you really think it does anything? Ive read all the how tos, bought all the stupid home depot parts and even put ice in the tank. Havent noticed a single thing other than people laughing at my car while it takes a leak in traffic. Do a dyno run that justifies spending $130 on some hoses and maybe you will have some business.

Exactly Jeff that's why 40 bucks is ok. It's cheap. I just think it will cool down our very small inefficent (sp) IC a bit faster than the air.

That's why I only spent $7 on mine...no way I'd spend $130. (headshake

Their purpose is more for use at the track... when the intercooler doesn't have time to cool down between runs. It prevents/stops heat soak.

Cooling an intercooler or intake piping DOES help. But spending a grip on it is probably not the best way to spend your money.

I split my hoses so half sprays on my I/C and another half runs through my TB and back into the reservoir. It takes a little longer to run for the water to reach the I/C due to the pressure dropping, but there's a slightly bigger difference and it was only about $10 more than just the sprayer.

good luck using a water sprayer(which this seems to be) at a track...

What do you mean? I ice my engine down and spray the intercooler, intake pipes, and intake manifold down between every run. I've done it for the past 4 seasons.

I think he was talking about using it during a run. The system that's at the top turns on at 3/4 throttle, which I'm sure will cause it to spray if you're running at a track.

The reason why this system is at the price it is, is because there are extra add ins that other systems don't have. Our system does not leak everywhere. Also it comes with a circuit board that monitors when to turn the sprayers on. As mentioned before the system only turns on when you really need it and thats when racing. (Can be modified for daily driving if need be). The dyno runs will be completed very shortly.

How do u justify it not leaking everywhere? If your car is pissing all over the track they will have you out of there faster than you can say "I wasted $130 on..."

Like I mentioned before we have included many add-ins that are not even considered in the home made setups. One of which is to prevent the sprayers from leaking and actually keeping the water in the tank until it needs to be sprayed.

I'm not leaking, either... There's some over spray, though. I think $130 is a bit steep, personally, considering how well my $50 worked out, especially since I'm running cooler water through the throttle body as well. In retrospect, $75-$80 wouldn't be too bad considering everything's already included and the system comes on automatically, based on throttle.
