Getting screwed by Mazda

So they finally admitted that my turbo is broken and that it is causing the smoking. However, I have not had my oil changes performed at the dealership and have done them myself. Evidently this is grounds for voiding my warranty and not performing the repairs. I am trying to find all my oil receipts and have been told that even if I manage to do so it may not be sufficient to avoid having my claim refused. I have 23,000 miles on the clock and have had the issue since day one. I have had it in several times before that they denied and now they are trying to take a different approach at not helping me. Bull sh*t. The dealer is Luther Mazda in Brooklyn Park, MN. Any other bad experiences?

Its the dealership, not Mazda attempting to shaft you. Have you read your warranty and found the wording that states you must have your car serviced by the selling dealership or any other Mazda dealership? I doubt such wording exist. Don't let them get away with that.

That is total BS. Too many people do their own maint. for them to try and pull something like that, not to mention some people take their cars to places like jiffy-lube.

My only bad experience with Mazda USA so far is that non-speed dealedships won't touch my car.

mazda dealers suck!!! screwed me 3 times already but if u have ur recipts they say ur good but who knows with these dealers

thats nothing. mine has had a slightly crooked steering when sense day one and they made note of it 3 days after i drove it off the lot, they told me it was normal dont worry about it, that the cone of the road makes it happen. when i notice the tires wearing funny and finally get a chance to bring it to them, i drop it off all day and they said they found out why my steering wheel is crooked. one of the rear wheels was bent!!! and i obviously changed out one of my tires because the others were so worn!! and they said who ever changed my oil last didnt know what the hell they were doing and cracked the filter housing!! and they said they had a warranty rep come out and take pictures of my mazdaspeed CAI and DP so that they can void my warentee on my motor!!! then had the nerve to tell me that they hate people like me that modify there cars and hurt the ozone layer!!! I was soooo ******* pissed i didnt know what to say!!!! i told them im the idiot that changed my oil and last time i checked the filter housing was fine. Long storie short my filter housing was fine just has oil residue on it from last oil change, and my rear wheel wasnt bent, it just had a slight imperfection in the casting on the inner lip. i contacted the general manager and told them how they discriminated against me and that i had witnesses. He made all the people involved call me and personally apologize, and told me to call him first if i have any problems. I went to a different dealer and they actually wanted to take pictures of my car for there ads and were stoked about the mods i had done!! they said they would always warantee my car even with mods, as long as the problem wasnt directly caused by a NON-Mazda part. so yeah, tell those nga's at the other dealer to fuk themselve and find a new dealer, LOL

When I change my oil, I not only write down the service info in the little booklet in the owner's manual, but also enter the info on mymazda.com and also take a photo of the receipt from the parts store where I purchased the oil with my odometer in the picture with it. This way I have proof that I bought oil on a given date at a given mileage. I also take an oil sample and send it to Blackstone to create a further paper trail.

Just let them try to deny me anything based on not having the oil changes done there.

How many of the 2000 posts do you have are just this "+1"

Your an idiot.

you're***

i've been on and off of the phone with the service writers at galpin mazda (roscoe and the 405 socal) to find out what would void warranty. they are very helpful and it seems as though they are lenient as well.

last time i called, i specifically asked about test pipe, and they said, ok...but if problems are caused by changing the test pipe, then void warranty on those specific parts of the vehicle. NOT the entire warranty.

call a few different dealerships and ask them specifically about your mods and whether or not they will fulfill the warranty.

putting the stock dp back on might be beneficial to you as well for when you take it in, but you can ask about this when you call the dealerships

my dealer didnt know what turbo timers is that why im not going to them anymore.....

If a dealer tried to pull a warranty claim because I didn't change my oil with them I would just have my oil sent into the lab. Then when it came back as clean it would prove to them that my oil changes had nothing to do with it.

Are they Mazdaspeed certified ? if not they probably can't even get the turbo . i'd just take it to another dealer and have the oil receipts onhand .
