heh yeah, coming from a vw gti 1.8t to this is a little different. clutches are totally different and it took me some time to get used to driving the MS3. still does.
Launching in second helps in poor weather, but you have to ride the clutch a bit more. Not something I'd do on a regular basis.

I would not routinely start in 2nd either. My car is not happy doing it unless I am already rolling or pointing downhill
If I am traffic limited as usual, I do the clutch throttle thing about 1000 and pull the stick about 2k. When you are just keeping up with with traffic, you can drive the MS3 like a diesel, upshifting every few car lengths. My shifting is MUCH smoother with the linkage mass removed.
