I am getting ready to get a Blow off valve for my Mazdaspeed Protege and I want some suggestions on what to get. So if anyone has some info let me know.

u will either have to relocate the MAF sensor or run both the BPV and BOV together to prevent stalling. i have the greddy rs bov with the stock bpv and it def has a nice pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. i like the greddy type s as well!

"Mods: turbo rotary with headers....and pistons"

what a classic...lol...this was from way back from the 2nd (correct if wrong) mischief dvd...if you haven't seen them, leave the computer and get them all.

definitely do the dual setup...i have the Boostsciences Reflex diverter bpv...and the Greddy type s...im thinkin about switchin my greddy for the hks ssqv....heard it holds boost better...and sounds louder

first do you have an front mount intercooler or upgraded hardpipes? youll need to tig weld this flange onto your piping about 6-8 inches away from your throttlebody: then put this o-ring inside the flange: next youre going to take some snap ring pliers to fasten down the bov with your c clamp make sure it is seated inside the lip, not right on it. or else you bov will, well blow off literally the first time you go into boost, happened to me. and i have a nice spider web in the paint to prove it (the outward dent it caused was tapped back down)

then youll have to figure out how to plumb up your stock bpv so it still functions with the system. hardpipes with a stock/aftermarket smic typically should have the little nipple to hook up your bpv right where it hooks up on the plastic pipes. now if you have a front mount intercooler youll have to move your bpv to where there should be a nipple somewhere on the piping. i cant vouche for others but my perrin has one right by the endtank on the driverside. install your bpv with an adaptor hose (sry dont have a pic of this) and use some 1 inch tubing i believe and route that back to where it recirculates into your intake.

then of course youll have to run a vacuum line to your bov and bpv.

i would have simply pm'd you but i felt since this is a 'i want a bov' thread id post this info up on here to give anyone looking into a bov an idea of what it takes. so noone yell at me for thread jacking or anything.

FWIW, I bought my MSP with a simple TurboXS Type-S BOV on it and I like it so much I've never changed it. It's a single setup, with no BPV, and no packing washers are in it. It blows off with even very light throttle. It can stall, but it's rare. The only time I have to watch it is with little blips of the throttle when messing around in traffic or trying to park, but it quickly became second nature for me to avoid. The sound is really different, and I think it sounds wicked. Everyone that's heard it agrees. I think they're pretty inexpensive too.

your stalling issues sound exactly like mine...cept i run the dual setup. anyone want to chime in on this? should i change the setting on my bov?

i had to adjust my blow off valve and i have the dual setup.

I have the dual set up and I also had to adjust my BOV, but I have a HKS racing BPV that is venting. Luckily I have a friend that lives right between the freeway on ramps so I could easily tune and test it, had at least 8 runs before I got it.
