GB: Carbon Fiber P5 Hatch and Sedan Trunk...

any chance of a lexan window instead of using factory glass? for weight savings and all...

I tried to call, but they're closed until the 3rd (wish I worked there!).

I'm not sure if Fiber Images does anything with Lexan or not. But I would imagine if you wanted a window from that you could have it done pretty easy.

Lexan isn't really good for street cars though. From what I understand it gets kind of foggy (for lack of better words). It weathers quickly.

Anything new on this?

I wish... It doesn't seem like there is enough interest at all for it though.

Ah well, it was worth a try anyway. :)

I'll probably just pony up the cash to get the JSP trunk and a Fiber Images hood.

No, there was no interest. It is not going to happen.

i'm sure if you tried this again, the interested would probably be there...i wouldn't try it when people are going on vacation or around any holidays...but i there IS interest...it just needs to be brought-up at the right time.

id be interested, but you would need a donated hatch for a p5 right?... we need to find that 1st

There was very little interest from anyone at all.... People need to actually commit to buying these before something like this to be done. But there definitely not near enough interest here for this to happen.

ahh! dangit G-dub (thats my ghetto name for you, ghostwhisper) (hump)
i wish you woulda seen this sooner too...

Having the factory hatch for them to work with is a very minimal detail to have these produced.

People actually buying them is the complicated part.

Yes, i would have bought one, but I never saw the damn thing. But i guess 1 person wouldnt have been enough. But good looking out ben.

I was considering them myself... But I really trust Fiber Images the most.

I'm sure you've heard the urban legend about cheap hoods breaking off the hinges in a wreck and coming through the windshield and cutting the heads off of those in the front seats. Fact or fiction, I won't cut corners with a hood.

*yet I have no longer have the driver airbag due to my Momo steering wheel..... (uhm)

Oh you mean like my Fiber Images. It did this, I will never buy a product from them again. It was such a piece of s***, the clear is starting to come off, and it is chipping, oh and the latch broke, good thing I now have hood pins.

But It was my mistake from buying it from speed concepts, becuase I think they sold me a b stock hood , for a stock qulaity.
