Gauge Numbers and Temps

MP3Night

MS3,Mazda3,MSP
I'm sure its somewhere on here, but I was not able to find anything that had readings of what the WideBand, Oil Temp, and Oil Pressure gauges should be reading when turbo charging a Mazda Protege. So what should I be looking for to read on the gauges to know that I am running good?

wideband= 14.7 at cruise and vaccuum; anywhere from 10-high 12's in boost
dont know about the other 2

Cool Thanks! okay yeah thats what a performance shop was telling me, but I wasn't sure. I think this thread will be helpful to other ppl wanting to know what they should be reading. So post up your numbers everyone

the temp will get effected due to turbo mainly but it shouldn't be over too much of F* more which will be within the limit 99% times.
I don't have temp gauge, so no real #'s but be assure that you can negate this unless your goal is to achieve 300+whp where an oil cooler system might be required or best used to help keep engine "happy".

Oil pressure will remain the same since turbo won't effect it nor is it required to change, hence: FS-DE is the same engine even for NA or for MSP (turboed), that being said: ~82 psi when cranked (first start in the morning or cold engine), 28-34 psi idle (idle when after drive, engine hot) , over 4k rpm it should be 55-64psi
These are the reading I'm getting and I have Greddy V2 pressure gauge, I have MSP.

Obviously there will be some slight different reading from ppl to ppl where either gauge or oil viscosity/brand will play some role in it or the condition of the engine or turbo could cause the reading to be off as well.

need more info...

p5 when i was ne... average water temp was about 175 ( outside air temp at 40 degrees ) getting up to... 200-220ish before fans kick on....

p5T average is about 185ish fan comes on at same times... usually within about 10-15 min of running... im thinking of re doing my waterlines though..

Oil Pressure

On the Doc B thread, MP3racer talks about using 10psi per 1000rpm as a rule of thumb for oil pressure ideally. But apparently, if you don't have their upgraded oil system it jumps around alot more than that especially after driving for a while. Which explains the numbers that Speed3.5 is talkin about.

Personally my oil pressure is all over the place.
