Gas Mileage

2011 M2
Hello, perhaps this is the wrong spot for this thread ...Im curious what people are getting for mpg from their M2....I recently ( today ) went 385 miles using 8.4 gallons for mpg of 45.8....This was with 3 people plus a filled cooler with a mixture of 90/10 highway/ town......The highway was at 70mph..........The lowest I have gotten was 40.5 mpg......

I can get 40 pretty easy now, but my lowest is around 32 I think.
If you've never been below 40 you must drive extremely conservatively.

Ironically I got the best mpg's in my mazda5 when it was weighed down for vacation (34mpg on a highway trip)...and that was booking it too.

Maybe the added weight helps it sit lower or just the dedicated highway vacation run helps...who knows.

I can't get more than 31mpg, but then again, 90% of my driving is through one of the worst gridlocked places in the US.

I'm pulling just shy of 40mpg on a 5-speed with 7 tanks of gas since I bought. I run 90% highway and AC 100% since I don't believe we've been below 100 degrees since I bought it. Based on other forums, it should pull 42-43mpgs w/o AC. I've seen rare reportings in the 45-50mpg range. Maybe you got one of the "golden" M2s.

Great mileage, Elzoom. Don't change anything you're doing.

I'm getting in the mid to upper 30's, but I drive like an idiot. That's why I need an M2.... And, I'm constantly up and down hills which doesn't help.

Lot's of variables. Tire pressure, gas mixture, weather, etc, etc...... I was driving on the 401 in Canada last summer in my wife's Fit. We got this one tank of gas that just kept going and going. Later I found that not all gasoline in Canada (at that time) had ethanol. Wish I could buy that all the time. That tank must have been in the mid to high 40's.
