i just bought my mp3 2 weeks ago. i've been putting regular 87 octane gas in it. today i just received the owner's manual that i had to order and it said i should be using 91 octane or higher. is everyone here using 91? so should i switch to 91?

Always use 93 octane, usually Amoco Ultimate. With 1/4 tank left it costs me about $28 to fill her up. The tank usually lasts a week to a week and a half. These high gas prices suck but what can you do???

cuz my mp3 has always run with regular! myself as well as the previous owner only used regular in it. i never read the manual and didn't know until recently that it suggests using 91+ octane. i guess if i would have known before i would have used 91+ but i haven't and not one single problem. in fact it does say you CAN use below 91. only that it RECOMENDS the 91+. just because i recomend you go to your bank and wire me $100 doesn't mean you have to. the mp3 is fine on below 91 octane fuel. but yes you are likely to have better response times and engine with a higher octane.

well i put 93 octane in it for the first time after using 87 octane a couple times. that same nite my check engine light came on. now when i start up my car it seems like its trying to stall out even tho i still have the clutch down and havent even tried driving yet. think maybe its the gas? or being sumtin else and a coincidence
