hey a buddy of mine is giving me a garrett t88 turbo for free! and i was wondering if it would fit on my car? he also has an intercooler off of his old rx-7 that hes giving me.... if anyone knows if these will fit without any major mods to the bumper or radiator or fans.. pm me or reply..
thanks all
mike

Dude, I'd sell that thing for some LOOT and then get a nice turbo setup for your car. I don't believe that will work on the protege... You could probably sell that and the intercooler for a new turbo kit and FMIC!

LOL NO. It is much much bigger than the tiny T25 in your car... And even if you could fit it, you wouldn't make any useable boost til way late in the rpms, that is if you could even get it to fit...

T-88. Not to practical on our cars. Get the turbo ,sell it, and maybe shoot for the gt28rs.

Yea definetly get it and sell it. That thing is worth money to the Supra guys and any other high power guys. You could by a real nice kit with that money.

i think you could probably sell it for about $400... and btw the absolute biggest i think anyone would use on a protege is a t35.. and that's even pushing it. most go for a gt28rs or a gt30r

ya i didnt think it would fit... its HUGE! lol but i think i might sell it on ebay and then buy myself a nice fmic kit and an intake manifold.. does anyone know how much power i would have with an intake exhaust fmic and a intake manifold???
thanks guys

Check out a compressor map for a T88, it'll never spool from a motor your size. Even Supras need to rev pretty high to move enough air for them to spool. That's more matched to a small block V8 to make useable boost.

plus you are talking about new radiator, new fans, and a lot of moving $hit around just to make it fit when u could just buy a kit that fits already, plus like they said its going to take you till 5-6k rpms just to make it spool if it spools at all. friend of mine put a t3 on his civic dx and couldnt even make it spool and blew his motor at the same time lol...dont know how

id say in the neighborhood of 200 at stock boost

Those things come off of the big diesel trucks like 18 wheelers and big equipment machines.
