I just bought a 2024 CX5 upgraded from a 2017 CX5. It looks like it can fit a full size spare. Can anyone confirm this ? Full size spare definitely would not fit in the 2017. Thanks.
One thing I noticed on the 2024 was that the donut spare was a lot bigger than the 2017. The tire well is also noticeably larger. I measured the well as best I could and it "seems" it was redesigned to accommodate a full size spare. Even the depth of the well has been increased. I'll have to remove one of the tires and see if it fits.I actually bought an OEM wheel from Lexus ES350 for my Mazda 6. The wheel more or less fits into the area where the regular spare is located, but its obviously gonna stick out into the storage space.
Were you able to replace the rear cargo carpet, etc., without a 'bulge"?I removed a tire (17") and it fits into the cargo area spare tire well. Perfect fit...
If you can mount and store the exact same size diameter as the rest of the tires you'd be OK. It would probably involve using the same brand and size as what's on the car. You could store it in the rear hatchback area. If not the exact diameter you'll have to get used to seeing the ABS imoji in the cluster due to different rotational speeds. Have no idea what effect a different size tire would have on the drivetrain mechanicals ( AWD and transmission ) but probably not good.I just bought a 2024 CX5 upgraded from a 2017 CX5. Late to the game, but I can confirm that a 225/65/17 mounted on a factory 17" wheel fits in the spare tire well with the read carpet over it without a bulge as long as its on the level that makes it level with the tailgate and not the lower one that makes it level with the side storage areas.
2022 and newer has move-able floor pad in the trunk. Can sit low or high.I don't understand what you are trying to write here.
