I wouldn't go past 350whp on a stock motor.
Doesn't gets challenging for a FWD car with traction over 300whp? I'm speaking about a DD though.
You did 317whp on a Mustang Dyno. On a dynojet, you'd probably see higher numbers. On a dynapack, probably a little less.I cracked a piston at 317whp with a dyno'd professional tune. The only guy in the us that can tune these is like 40 miles away is allbut anywho runnin untuned i wouldn't push my luck to 350

haha His dyno guy is Tim Baily at surgeline..and hes only 1 half drive from me. Hes one of the best ms3 tuners in north america. Anyways..its hard to say max power..I alwas hear 350 alot..but then you hear of people blowing rods when they have just a intake or bov mod..so who knows..I honestly wouldnt go over 300 whp in these cars with stock block as a dd..I think 280-300 is prabaly about perfect.. Its already got plenty enough hp and tq for a fwd dd. If you want way more power go evo or sti and build that up..or go muscle car..these ms3 engines are some picky ass mofo's...some will go thousands and thousands of miles modded..and some will bust a rod or crack a piston bone stock at 10000 miles..and the car ecu is tricky too as the ots maps seem to vary from car to car..which is way different than with the suby's...these are great cars..nice interiors fast enough for most people..decent on gas when you not putting your foot into it..but just becareful..id say its apretty stable study platform..but wouldnt press my luck..when i get my custom tune from surgeline..its gonna be anice conservative one....I plan to keep my car for while..and really dont wanna join the zoom zoom boom club..I mean dont get me wrong..going forge engine is sweet...but at the time I really dont have thousands of dollars hiding in a cookie jar for that..so I just enjoy my car and extra boost and dont push it too far..as for 350-400 hp on a fwd platform..well hell yes its gonna cause torque steer and traction issues are gonna suck alot more..your talking about strong motormounts and beefing up the bracing and running some super sticky wide tires..bottom line I dont know s*** about cars compared to some people in here who are extremly inteligent about subjects like these..But i think 300 whp is pretty much the farthest you wanna go on stock block dd..can you go more? yep..I just wouldnt..maybe im a pussy idont know..but idont think this engine is made to be a madman stock..thats why you go forge or buy another car...my 2 cents
You can get a rebuilt k04 so you don't have to worry about the turbo seals problem.
true. but what im saying is that if i were to just add a full tbe, turbo manifold, plugs, an AP to tune and anything other bolt on power mods, would that be to much for the car. I dont want to touch the boost with any controller and i dont want to get a different turbo. Basically im freeing up as much as possible.
OP its hard to say the full potential of the stock motor. some of it is how you build it/tune it and drive it for sure, but many of them blow at part throttle because these cars run lean with so much timing in closed loop... some stock, some with only an intake/exhaust blow up. I wouldnt go past 330whp or so with it.
the ap ots maps all up boost...
