So I finally broke down and bought an intake. I was tired of the cel I got from the custom one I did. Anyways i went ahead and chopped it down and made it a sri. I think it works better and im gonna prove it on the dyno. Im gonna dyno it with the cai portion on it and then back to the sri. Ill post the graphs as soon as I do it. Now to make sure I get fresh cool air on the filter I went ahead and did the hood mod. I posted a pic so you can see that too. Car pulls better than ever. Now next up manifold and dp. Ill post those dyno graphs also. Enjoy!

Now that I see the hood mod I can say it is a bad idea. That hole is centered over the blow-off valve practically. That will in now way pump cold air to the filter, all that will do is lower the flow to your intercooler.

Lower the air to intercooler, probably not. Put cool air in the area around the airfillter, yes. If you dont like it dont do it. I believe it to be a great thing for people with modded box and sri. Not only that but you dont have to do it exactly like i did mine. If someone wanted to get crazy they could fab something cool that panned directly onto the filter.

have it on the market made by autoExe called a ram air kit about $750

Thats how I have my Mazdaspeed CAI set up. But I think I'm gonna go ahead and just do the full CAI job.

Very interested in the results of your test. I somehow escaped certain disaster with the cold-air intake last month in a flash freak thunderstorm, and am lookin to cut down my MS6 Fujita into a short ram.

Keep us posted.
