I was stationed in Oklahoma for about 3.5 years as a Field Artilleryman and now its time for my first real assignment (in November) as an interrogator after learning a foreign language.
My choices were pretty limited. I've been at Ft. Knox (KY) and had no interest in going back to KY (wanted me to go to Campbell). Ft. Bragg (NC) and Ft. Wainwright (AK) are both dependent on Airborne status, of which my two relatively bum knees want no part of.
Pretty much I had to chose either Ft. Drum (NY) - pass on the blistering cold weather, Ft. Lewis (WA) - not really interested, or the above or Ft. Hood (TX).
So i asked my branch manager to hopefully get me there. I guess it's somewhat moot since basically its jsut a stepping stone for Iraq and Afghanistan, but curious as to what the place is like if you live near there?
