I'm just curious if anyone has this motor in their cars. I just wanna know what people think about the motor and all. I know the specs of it but I wanna hear from personal experience. I'm intrested in how much it also is.

I don't have it, but its not worth the $$$ unless you can find the J-Spec ECU which is pretty much impossible. Even then, the extra 30HP for ~$2000 doesn't seem worth it to me with all of the work involved!

The way I see it, the motor is worth the 2000. besides if you do the upgrades to it, it can be a really powerfull motor. And the ECU, its not impossible to get. I'll go check out my options when i do my exchange program to japan next year. Once there, i'm just goin to shop around and get some insight on some things about the Sport 20.

You'll have a motor that is no more powerful than 170*ps* which works out to about 162HP at the crank. So why not just take your FS-DE, get some custom cams, a new intake manifold, header, and a piggyback or standalone, and get more power out of it for cheaper? Do a search. You'll see that its not a cost effective way to get power.

yeah, an engine swap would be cool for show circuits and stuff. I have major respect for the few who have done the swap because it shows love for JDM style.

BUT if you just want more power a ze swap would not be cost effective and it would not give you as much gains as a turbo would.

keep in mind you pay for the engine and then you have to pay a good mechanic to modify the engine for our p5s. unless of course you have the know-how to do it yourself
