ok so my dealer told me they would void the warranty if next time they see me with boost gauge installed or any other mods. if smbd wants to jump on this - let me know. local pickup only.
rpm vent pod ($30)(orig price $40)
boost gauge ($40)(original price $65)
both can be considered like new. had them installed for like a week before went to dealership for oil change.. bummers
!!! THEY CANT DO THAT ITS AGAINST THE MOTHER ******* LAW TO VOID WARRANTY WITHOUT YOU COMMING IN FOR WARRANTY WORK AND CLAIMING SOMETHING IS BROKEN TO GET IT FIXED. THEY HAVE TO PROVE THE PART YOU HAVE INSTALLED CAUSED THE FAILED PART TO BREAK !!!
I roll up to me dealer FULLY bolted with fmic, intake full tbe, tuner EVERYTHING they CANNOT do anything without you making a claim on something broken. only time I went stock was when my turbo seals blew at 15k miles, and theyve seen my car fully bolted previously, but they cant give me s*** because I bring it in stock. And this is the service manager himself involved with replacing my turbo, he knew I had mods, But they take pictures and send to mazda "Tech line" where they allow and approve techs to do warranty work ....
ANd to further prove this point I had an iginition Coil go bad, but because non of my mods Affect the ignition coils at all, was replaced and fixed for free with no bulls***, all under warranty.
So in the end what you need to do is goto the service manager and tell him this, Im trying to think of the name of the law, but If you bring it up and be like this law says u cant do that they will usually back off, BUT I would simply goto another dealer if this one is full of ******* morons which it sounds like.
here i Found it its called The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act
I mean ******* seriously you just went in for a ******* oil change, tell them to ******* suck your dick !
You dont EVER hear anyone with a stereo get threatened to Void electrical warranty on a car, so Why is this any different, ITS NOT! would be different if u came in to claim your speakers blew and u have an aftermarket radio, At that point ! they can say NO we will note replace the speakers, BUT IT STILL DONT VOID THE ******* WARRANTY U STILL HAVE WARRANTY ! just that one part is no longer covered because you altered the parts that affect it.
I hope this helps, Noone should be afraid to enjoy and mod thier car, thats ******* bulls*** You tell them the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty forbids them from doing so and if they continue to threaten them you will report this to Mazda USA and Complain! they only pull this s*** on people who dont know better, Put these faggots in thier mother ******* place @@!*(#T*&#
Go ******* re install your god damn boost gauge and enjoy it.... plain and simple
One last word on this, If the service manager had half a brain, He would know its not his or his Dealers Money to replace your parts and warranty, the dealer and tech gets paid by Mazda USA for warranty, if u blow your engine YOU MADE THAT DEALER MONEY They get paid for a full Engine replacement, you provded work for the tech who gets paid labor, Everyone wins. So tell the *** to open his eyes.
