Ok, So I've got an 03.5 MSP that's been grounded since mid Dec, due to CAI -> water damage -> bent valve -> boom. Engine's shot. My shop (http://www.theshowzone.com/) is having the hardest time finding a replacement FS-DET engine, and now I'm thinking about just getting a standard FS-DE and dropping it in. Question is, and yes I've researched for hrs, is there really no difference between the two, other than the FS-DET having a forged crankshaft? I really just want to be certain, before I do this and slap on my MSP turbo, manifold, etc. I also see that there needs to be a bung installed for the turbo lines. But other than that, are the rods/pistons of the DET the same as the DE, will it mate up to the tranny and ecu fine? Thanks for what help anyone can provide.
