I know this probably isn't the right section to ask but I've found a few 626's in my area that have FS-DE's in them. After some checking there is a Standard Emissions FS-DE in the 00-02, and a Low emissions one seems to have VTCS and the other VICS which is which? I want the one that Only has VTCS I belive because its easly removed correct for better air flow. Seeing as VICS is in the middle of the runners not easly accessed. Am I correct can someone please elaborate better. There seems to be no definetive answer. Reason I decided to go with the fs-de out of a 626 is it seems more of a family car and less likely riced and probably better taken care of vs the proteges in the same era that are sportier and more likely to be riced.

It will not matter which 1. You will have to use all sensors and crankpulley from the protege motor... The Intake manifold with both vtcs and vics is not what you want... it is the same (flow speaking) as your stock IM... A fsde is an fsde no matter what it was in.... The were in the mpv van too.... if you can find a a vtcs only im...well worth it to install... You will want the egr tube with it as well!!! It goes from intake manifold to exhaust manifold...fyi

The one you want have the flaps only at the head... Not in the middle of the manifold........ It will be 1 whole piece not 2 pieces...
