SOLD

Up for sale is my CP-e rear mount (aka lower mount, trans mount, roll restrictor, etc). This is from the "new" black-bushing batch that has not had issues. It has the white dot indicating 60 durometer. It does not, for whatever reason, have CP-e's logo engraved on it. All hardware and instructions are included. It was installed on my car for about 3 weeks/1000 miles, during which time it loosened up considerably, so it's already "broken in".

I painted the mount with high-temp black for stealth, so it doesn't look much different from stock. The paint chipped off around the fasteners when I torqued them down but there are no other chips (None of the chips show when installed).

Main reason for selling is that this mount vibrates too much for me. It's also illegal for the stock class I compete in in autocross, so I'd rather play by the rules than push my luck for a part I don't care for.

I paid $139 with free shipping from Protege Garage, I'm asking $100 shipped obo.

hmmm that's odd. it did vibrate at first but not much right now. i got that black bushing also w/ the cp-e engraving though. anyway, gl with sale.

It definitely did get better, and was close to the point that I didn't mind it, but I still shouldn't be using it in TDS. So I figure why tolerate the mount when it's against the rules anyway.

FWIW, I think it only bothers me because I tend to start from stops in 2nd a lot, and at low rpms which is where the vibes are worst. Other people either wouldn't care or might have different driving styles.

attatches to the transmission so im pretty sure your wrong.

I was meaning passenger/driver side mounts are mostly referred to as tranny mounts unless rear mounts are the same thing. Never heard anyone call a rear mount a tranny mount

Dude, what? The passenger/driver side mounts are never referred to as trans mounts, they're nowhere near the transmission! The rear mount is referred to as the trans mount since it attaches the trans to the subframe.

Thanks for your input in a for sale thread though ;)

edit: yeah I'm pretty much wrong. The driver side mount may be called a trans mount since it's on the trans side.

*raises hand* (attn)

uhm, i'm no expert but i think a rear mm and a tranny mount are 2 different things.

CLICK HERE (don't worry it's not meatspin, and can i get a discount since i posted that link? hehe)

Ok, guys, think about this. The engine and transmission are bolted together as an assembly, which attaches to the vehicle at three points. There's one on the driver side (transmission side), one on the passenger side, and one on the bottom. Whether these three mounts attach in reality to the engine block or the transmission case is really semantics.

This particular mount attaches to the rear, lower part of the transmission. You can name it after whichever of these three locales you care to. Fact of the matter is, this one is for sale!

edit: the two mounts in dizzin's link are TRZ's version of the mount I'm selling (they call that one "rear") and the driver/transmission side of the engine (they call that one "transmission").

FWIW, only the driver/transmission side and passenger side mounts support any weight. This mount I'm selling - whatever you want to call it - only acts to restrict the tendancy of the engine/trans assembly to roll about the car's transverse axis. Hence "roll restrictor".

double edit: sale pending.
