Hi,

For sale is a set of 4 used Bronze Kazera KZ-B rims. They've served me well for a few years now, on a Mazdaspeed Protege, and I'm selling because I have 3 sets of rims and these are the odd man out.

Priced at $200 but I'll entertain offers. Don't be shy.

They're in decent but not new shape with some minor curb rash. One of the wheel was bent slightly and was straightened by this shop in Peabody, MA.

I can visibly see a mark where the straightened it that looks like a curb rash.

I haven't had the rims on the car since it's been straightened, so your guess is as good as mine as to *how* straight they managed to get it. It looks pretty good and appears that it'll balance up to my untrained eye.

If you're interested, you can contact me at dgriswold1@yahoo.com or Via PM
So, the details.

The Rims are:

ET +48
17x7.5
5x114

My trusty bathroom scale tells me they're 22lbs

So, some pics:

This was the mark from the straightening process.

A little bit of rash.

By and large, they're in decent shape.

Here they are on the car.

Make me an offer.

how did the lip get bent ?
aside from the bent lip is there any warping ?

when last you had them on, was the shop able to 0 them out without a ton of weights ?

Im very interested, but the bent lip worries me some.
Im looking for a set to replace the rims on my mp5 due to one or more of the rims being warped. (basically a slight oval shape)

would it be possible to take the repaired rim by a shop and have them spin it up to see if the bent was only at the lip ?
shouldnt cost anything if you know them.

Hi,

Yeah, when I was last running them they all balanced quite easily and would run shimmy free on the highway. They spent their entire life running bridgestone RE01R's, fwiw.

The lip got bend on a water filled pothole that I hit doing about 50 mph.

I have a pretty good relationship with a tire shop that's on my way to work. I'm happy to see if I can have them spin it up tomorrow morning. I'll see if I can get video of it spinning so you can see if there is any observable wobble.

Good enough?

Thanks,

Dave

thanks, yea, I dont think you need to vid it, the shop should be able to tell easily enough :)

Okay, so, I had the rim spun on a balancing machine this morning.

I saw it myself as well.

It has a *slight* skip under rotation on the outside lip. Inside lip seemed fine.

When I asked the tech, who recently replaced my failed LSD, clutch, etc, his comments were that it will balance out easily.

I asked if the slight skip would cause any shimmying at highway speeds and he didn't think there would be any issue at all.

That being said, short of me putting tires on the rims and driving them I can't guarantee that. I can only trust what this guy is telling me. He's indicated that he's balanced and driven much worse with no driveability issues.

I will say that even when the rim was bent it wouldn't shimmy until you hit 65+ mph....

So, hope that helps you decide one way or another....

thanks for the very honest reply, Im giving it some serious thought as I do like the rims.
I will let you know within a day or 2 for definite.

You're welcome. It's important to me that everyone walks away happy, one way or another.
