man what a diffrence, after i test drove the car i though why the #$@%!$%@#% didn't i do this before? CHEAP and Quick effective mod

mine are AWR BTW

before i installed them i decided to see how much a dealership would charge if i provided all the parts for the install (so basically labor only)

#####################
1st Northhill Mazda: too busy for install
2nd Kramer Mazda: i called in

rep: it will be approx 0.5hr to 0.7hr so at the very most it should only be $65 (i was thinking WTF just to undo and redo 3 bolts? LOL)

me: okay can i make an appointment at 2:00PM

rep: yep
#####################
so i drive down there and another person was working there, i guess the first person i spoke with on the phone was out for lunch

i asked the guy AGAIN how much it would cost just to make sure

Me: how much will it be to install the front motor mount for a 02 protege5, i have the after market mount in the car so its should be just a quick swap

REP: i thought you people would go to your faggity rice shops first (WTF)

Me: well usually i do everything myself but after the 48K Checkup they tightened the bolts on too tight for the motor mount

REP: alright i'll go look (he goes and gets this reference manuel)

REP: it will be 0.9Hrs for the front and 1.1HRs for the back so if your only doing the front thats $76.45 including tax

ME: are you sure about that? im positive it shouldn't take that long for only the front mount to be installed, all the bolts are easily accessible.

REP: nope thats what the service manuel says and thats what we charge

me: okay i'll cancel my 2:00PM appointment then

#####################

now WHAT THE #$%#$@ 2 diffrent answers and it certianly does not take 0.9Hrs to install a #%#$% motor mount, plus calling places that i supposedly go to are faggity rice shops right...

all i used was a 17" long 1/2" drive big ass bar and 17mm Socket, plus a jack and jack stands

TOTAL INSTALL TIME: 10 #$^%#@$^ MINUTES
Total install + Test drive + 3 Launches: 20 MINUTES

$#%@#$ YOU DEALERSHIP

man even just getting a quote pissed me off, anywho AWR motor mounts KICK ASS!!! definatly recommended, but if you are in canada PLEASE do yourself a favor and ask them to ship thru USPS and pay them $10 more if you have too. they shipped the mount thru UPS and the brokerage fee was @#$@#ing $36 dollars, I ONLY PAID $60 for it!!! thats more than half the price you assholes, UPS is now permantly blacklisted from any kind of shipping related needs. this isn't the first time they ripped me off either.

What a dick. "rice shops".

But the rear mount is worth the $ of the install.

yeah the rear is a b**** but the front? almost 80 bux.. LMAO please die.. thanks..

i installed my front one today and wow...gotta love it...although it took me and my cousin like an hour to remove that one bolt that connects the engine to the mount...but as soon as that was off, everything was smooth sailing from there!

s***, 1.1 hours for the rear mount is a STEAL - you should have set up an appointment for the rear right then and there. The front, yes, .9 hours is a rip-off for that. But 1.1 is a great deal for the rear. Although personally I don't recommend the rear myself...I'm taking mine out by winter and going back to stock.

yeah but when you have a hoist and IMPACT wrench it speeds things up a bit, also im pretty sure they have flex extention's for the impact wrench so they can fit it into tight spaces, ive seen LONG ass ext for them so it shouldn't be too hard to do

Next time you order from the states and it comes via UPS, call UPS before the package should arrive in customs and tell them you want to be your own broker.

When you go to get the package from UPS, they will give you some paperwork to take to canada customs wher you pay the taxes only. Then go back to UPS and get your goodies.

snapped some pictures of the mount installed

@ things ,it only take 10 minutes to change the front with hand tools ,I did it ,second If you are getting anything shipped to Canada as the shipper to use the post office ,Canada post only has a 5 dollar handling fee .

10mins for me to install the mount also.. and b/c i'm not lowered.. i didnt even bother jacking up my car.. lolz

although if you think bout it, yes it's 3 bolts for you if you have an aftermarket intake.. if it's the OEM, then they gotta take that out first.. so i'd say the book is right..

black: i sell the sleeving kits so.. i got it from myself..
mack: yes canadapost ownz, ive had things shipped that were well over 200 dollars and all they charged me was 7 dollars for GST
glau: you don't need to take out anything, i went underneath the car to take it off

Regarding the brokerage fee... you don't even need to go there BEFORE hand. When you go to pick it up and they want you to pay a brokerage fee. Just tell them you'll do it your self right there and then.

In Canada (and most likely the states as well), they're legally NOT ALLOWED to charge you a brokerage fee unless you agree to letting them be your broker. And, since they assume, you can just do it yourself.

Tried and proven.
