Front diff or AWD messed up...

is what the dealership told me today. 2 days ago I had a subframe bolt put in, that either the tech forgot to install or tighten doing the clutch and throwout bearing replacement. Got it installed.. The next day driving out of town I hear a whining noise that gets higher pitched with higher speed. On my way back in town I make an appt to bring it back in to have it looked at...Didn't make it. The cruise is set at 70 and it hesitates...Then a clunk..I slow down to pull over and before I even stop it locks the front tires..Engine still running. I get out and I smell something burning, like maybe fluid. And there is smoke coming from the tranny area. I try and pull further off the road but it sounds like gears are just grinding into each other and it doesn't want to move at all. Long story short it went out of warranty 4 days ago, never had a whining problem until after they put in the subframe bolt and did a full inspection. Thoughts?

Sounds like the dealership screwed up during the clutch job. Should be easy enough to prove they messed up when doing the job. Regardless of warranty or not they mess it up, they fix it.

Talked to Mazda Corporate. They will be in contact with the dealership. Hopefully something works out. I just got my Corksport Power Series intake in today, with no car to put it on :(
