former msp owner now srt owner just cheking in

whats up, just wanted to check and see what was going on w/ the msp now days. i had a spicy orange but traded it in for a srt. on the srt forum the msp really gets good reviews. i traded mine in right when the injen intake came out so im sure alot has happened since then.

The SRT is a cool car. I test drove one...I love that autometer boost gauge and the seats are nice..and the car has sick power and actually handles well..but not as good as the MSP.

I always wondered..do u get more props from others in the SRT-4 or when u had the MSP?? Also do u like the SRT a lot more than the MSP or just a little bit??

PS-I thought the SRT boards didnt like the MSP??

well when i had the msp, i always got props on the color/paint job on the car, but that was about it. when people actually rode in it, they would always talk about the boost lag that it has. w/ the srt, i get the props because its a pretty rare car in my area. not that the msp isnt rare, but alot more people know what the srt is compared to the msp. It really blows peoples minds when they ride in it because of the power.
As far as me liking the srt more. yea i do, i originallly wanted the srt, but settled for the msp because of the wait for dealers to get the srts. i didnt like msp as far as a turbo car goes. i didnt like the lag, or the fact that it was a great ordeal to get parts such as a blowoff valve to work right w/ out stalling. and my dealer always gave me hassles when i talked about modding the car. i was also scared to mod the engine because i didnt think the motor was very reliable when upping boost and so on.
i liked the srt because of the power, and mopar has a heck of alot of parts made for the car (stage1,2,3, turbo upgrades, blowoffvalve kit) that i can get installed w/out getting hassled by the dealer. the msp is a killer looking car, but i just wanted a car that was built for high boost, and i knew dodge had a bunch of great upgrades coming out.
as far as the srt forums, they mostly talk great about the handling of the msp. the only bad thing they say about the car is the motors lack of power for a turbo car.

I was at a car show in Memphis recently, and the Dodge rep. told me that although factory upgrades were plentiful for the srt-4, they were not covered under the regular car warranty because they were still considered "aftermarket" parts. So, if a non-upgrade part (alternator, a/c, etc.) malfunctions, you're covered. But if one of the upgrade parts breaks, you're only covered under the part's warranty (usually one year)...plus, you have to pay the labor for installation of the replacement part.

true, i had gauges installed in my MSP, and when i took it in for service, they looked at me kinda funny.
i'm scared to touch the car because i just don't know how reliable that motor is gonna be.
my service department has been pretty skeptical of me........ specially after that blown motor.
i luv the dodge.... looked at one saturday.......dealer wants 26500 for it. trading my car in with no money down.....592 a month.......no thanks

26000 is too much to pay for the srt4.
i saw it at hendrick dodge in cary,nc.
it seems that they mark up all cars.
also saw 2003 yukon w/ hendrick package........64000
that's just robbery !!!!!!!!!!

Sure they would. They're no different than any other dealer. Those would be "non-certified" parts. Why does everyone think Mazda is so much worse than any other make? People who mod other makes run into the same bulls*** at their dealers, too. They ALL will do anything not to have to do warranty work. And although the factory may reimburse the dealer, it won't be NEARLY as much $ as they'll get charging you for non-warrranty work.
