Hey, found the last new 2007 touring model in black available in our area...qualifies for 0% financing for 36 months and they are offering it to us for $18,100. Does this sound like a fair price? Any major differences between 2007 and 2008 that I should be aware of? What about a car sitting on a lot for almost a year...is that an OK thing??? Advice please! BTW, we decided to forego the 2006 rental model but are still looking for a good deal!

Maura :)

06 and 07 are virtually same models.. keet in mind that 08 has revised all(almost) the compalinments from previous 2 years.

0% financial is a big plus if you are financing the car.

if $18.100 is Out the door price (including tax, tag, destination charge).. it should be a excellent deal...

The 2008s added the following (for Touring):

-5speed AT
-Rear (middle) air vents: cool only
-Passenger and outboard middle arm rests
-Tan Interior Choice
-New Taillights
-New Wheel Style

The price is good. We paid $17,995 for an 07 Sport. The 5sp AT might be nice, but not a huge gain in the long run (depending on the price of an 08)

Put it this way, comparing this to a used 06 rental, you can't go wrong. I'd say go for it... yeah you won't get all the goodies in the 08, but I'm enjoying every minute of my 07. Sounds like a good deal... if you want to test the waters, they may even come down a bit more because they're probably dying to get that 'outdated eyesore' off their lot :)

Good luck!

You guys are great! If those are the only differences (listed above) I think we will go with the 07. I just wanted to make sure they hadn't made any safety upgrades/major changes. Very excited to own one of these and scoot my kiddos around in style.

Oh, btw, $18,100 is the out the door price, all inclusive. For the black touring model sounds like a good price.

$18,100 OTD?? hell yes that's a steal for a Touring. That's nearly the starting MSRP for the 07 Sport, I do believe. (headbang)

BTW, as far as sitting on the lot for a year, I wouldn't be too concerned. First of all unless they told you it was sitting there for a year, for all we know it may have had a late 07MY manufacture date. Also, it's no doubt been traded around between dealerships, rearranged around the lot, and test driven. IF it was sitting in one dead spot, unmoved, for a year, then yeah the tires may begin to develop flat spots, but this is guaranteed not the case. Bottom line, 99.9% chance the 1 year thing should not be a factor.

The MSRP for an 07 sport was more than $18,100. My $17,995 was the INVOICE on an '07 sport with no options. So it is a very good deal. The only think I would try and negotiate in is an oil change if it's been sitting for a while, other than that, you are good to go.

all inclusive: as in, including sales tax? if so, that sounds like a good deal. If not...ehhh...it's not terrible, I guess. But we picked up our '08 Touring for $18,500.

We can get the 08 Touring for 18,700 but not with the 0% financing...the 07 has a 0% financing offer right now in our area. Again, is there any great benefit to getting the 08 model? They are virtually the same save for a few cosmetic things and an extra air conditioning vent (it's never that warm here in Portland OR, save for a few days in summer, so that is not a must for us).

For convenience-type stuff, then it’s a matter of how important detail type stuff is to you… If you’re getting an Automatic Tranny, then the decision is between 4AT and 5AT, which is a much more important aspect to consider.

Isn't APR 1.9 instead of 0%... you get much more for 08..it is is $600 difference..i would get 08...

is $18700 Out the door price??? that would be awesome deal for Touring model ...

Yes, it is $18700 for the 2008 touring model...plus 200 or so for license/title etc. We don't have sales tax here in Oregon so that is not included. So, everyone keeps saying you get so much more with the 08 model...can someone be specific about all of the differences b/t 07 and 08? We will be driving automatic...what's the difference b/t 4 and 5 speed? I only ever drive in the drive mode. I am very green when it comes to cars :) We are headed to the dealership this weekend so need to make a decision!

This should help:

THanks, that does help. Stopped by the dealer today to look at the 08 Sport model...actually really liked it as the interior has less of the plastic silver (doesn't have it on the doors)...I am not a big fan of the silver painted plastic! Thanks so much for all of the advice! Will let you know what we decide.

Only vehicle I know in NA where in at full capacity all passengers get a window seat.
No kids fighting over who gets to sit by the window...

ahhh...when you mentioned out the door price, I didn't know you were in Portland. I LOVED the no sales tax thing in OR. We bought around 10 cars when we lived there. (in 2 years!)

Honestly, for such a minimal difference I would get the '08. The rear air is a nice feature. The added arm rests are nice too. The tail lights are nicer, the body had a slight makeover, the wheels changed, etc. when you go to sell your car....that '08 will be worth A LOT more than the '07. Partially because it's got more features, and partially because it's technically one model year newer.

Think about it. If you sell your car in 3 years...I'd be willing to bet you could fetch $1500 more for the '08 vs the '07. That's worth it right there!
