forge bov's for ms3/ ms6/ cx-7

100% agreed. The only advantage I think you'd have is you'll be able to adjust the point at which the BOV vents, providing some level of tunability to make a compromise between compressor surge, and boost containment.

I know for sure that my previous turbo car (Supra) had a leaking BOV, and ran pretty much at 1-2psi before I swapped in a Bosch unit. I'd be really ticked if Mazdas shipped with a leaking BOV though.

That was my other thought.. but I find it hard to believe this is the case.

peak hp will not go up, but low end power can in fact increase !! the valve can be adjusted to have more spring preload.. that will slam it shut faster and begin boosting sooner... = less turbo lag !! this is very noticeable with the blue spring in the forge valve. spool up between gear shifts is much faster.

I took a video of the forge bpv noises tonight. I just grabbed my sony digital camera and put it in that gap between the headrest and the seat on the passenger side since I didn't have anyone to hold the camera. There are parts with the windows up and the windows down.

Got my forge BPV for the speed6 installed few days back. Gotten used to the loud clink sound when i release the gas....wasn't used to it before...had to lube the inside too, cause it felt out of breath very fast initially, now it's holding boost ~15.5psi at WOT

I swapped with the blue springs...going to try with yellow springs tomorrow, i read on Forge's website, it recommends yellow (as a guideline for the PSI range)...
Gonna try it out since it's a weekend...

I have the blue spring in it and it runs fine but everyonce in a while ill get about half way in it and then let off and ill hear that flutter so i guess im gonna go to the yellow one today.

the flutter you are hearing at low boost venting is the bpv fluttering open and closed... it is not the compressor surge that was heard in cashmere's vid.
mine will flutter like that too, its normal. listen to a HKS at low boost.... that is one fluttery ass valve !!

I just installed my Forge this weekend with the BLUE spring. I did read somewhere that someone did the YELLOW spring w/ Shim.

Tru- did you try that YELLOW w/Shim? If so did you notice any difference. I might have to try it to see if there is something.

i tried a shim and didnt see a change.
thye ruke of thumb for bov's is that you want to be as tight as possible without surge. that is what i see with the blue spring
