There is 1 other person besides me that wanted to see them....so here they are. Aftermarket rims with +40 offset and slightly bigger tires than stock....handles better (only in theory - if the rubber wasn't snows) and I like the looks of the wheels filling out the rims.

Feel free to comment - good or bad. I know the rims are ho-hum looking...but it's a perfect 67.1 centerbore fit, which was a big factor in my purchase.

Thanks - that was my thought process as well. I didn't want anything fancy (there's FAR better looking rims out there than what I got) but I did know that I didn't want steelies - winter's too damn long for the car to look so horrible like that. On top of that steelies really aren't that cheap anyway - 200 more gets you REAL rims.

but those wheels are definately a lot nicer. would have gone with something similar if i had time to be picky
be careful with the offset and added weight. i had serious problems with that. have to have my inner rear quarters repaint in the spring.

I definitely agree with you there - with the less offset combined with the slightly bigger tire I do get mild rubbing in the back with ANYBODY in the back seat. It's only rubbed twice with only me in it though. When these winter tires die I'm definitely going to go 1 size smaller.

good move... i have steelies and they look like ass, but get the job done.. If i could go back i would score a used set of P5 wheels and slap some snowtires on them.. I was strapped for cash at the time.

Yup. Thanks for the kind comments guys.....they wouldn't be my first choice for summer rims but they get the job done without looking like ass in the winter. My advice is like Paul said - get some P5 or ES wheels for winter. I tried but nobody wanted to sell at the time for a reasonable price.

Yep - 17's can be had for > $125, you can get Pilot Alpins or others, but that's pretty spendy when at the same cost per corner you can get wheels AND tires in a 16. I have the same tires as girth but on P5 16" alloys and they're great - avoided a really ti-ight situation last week on dry pavement that would have sent other cars/tires sliding away... yep they look a little baloony but otherwise exactly like Girth's but on a black car with slightly wider 5-spoke alloys. They've worked great in wet, dry, and snow. No complaints. No rubbing even fully laden with the P5 wheels.
