FMIC update and now the addition of test pipe!

A dump tube would be nice much like what Camaro and Mustang owners use. The main problem I can see is trying to get one to fit especially one that is cable actuated. They do have solenoid actuated ones but are rather expensive. These setups are pretty loud even with a turbo to muffle the noise. I used to run open header on my Honda and it saw 5whp gains in N/A form. I still prefer proper size downpipe, test pipe and full exhaust set up but that's just me. :)

Yashooa Here's how the routing goes on the exhuast.

Cylinder Head exhuast side ----> exhaust manifold---->turbo---->downpipe---->catalytic convertor----->mid-pipe or b-pipe---->axle-back section or muffler---->then black smoot that kills trees and gets bumper dirty :)

yES the all ecompassing Evil of "The Smoot"

eheheheheh Thanks for diagram bro...again to da fro we go for the explaino...

Disco Stu is gone....

The ladies like the fro....I had to shave it all off so I could fit my head in the MSP. Since they don't come with sunroofs :(...LOL!

RX-KEVIN,

The big problem with the exhaust on the MSP is the downpipe. A few people have put 2.5 and 3 inch cat back exhausts on the car with no gains. So adding the dump valve will not benefit at all here cause its after the downpipe.

Sorry, but I just remembered this, so there is a need to get a new downpipe made to eliminate the pre cat. Thus freeing up exhaust flow ;D

boostisgood: are people custom fabbing 3" exhuast for these cars?

-Alan

nobody has yet otherwise there would be wide spread hysteria and people would have their heads so far up the person's ass that had it done it would be untollerable. kinda like a certain person's intake she had done.

"slope speed." Wow.

Sorry to thread jack! Good luck on the FMIC ForceFed.

ARunto, a few people have fabbed 3 in exhasut with not hp gains. Again, the issue being the uber restrictive downpipe.

So once a downpipe is fabbed up, then a 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust will be beneficial :D

I said a dump valve before the main cat you jackass. Next time you put my name in your stupid reply no wtf you are talking about

RX-KEVIN YOU ASS LOOK UNDER THE CAR, THE DOWNPIPE IS CONNECTED TO THE TURBO, THE DOWNPIPE CONTAINS THE PRECAT YOU ASSHOLE. THE PRECAT IS THE MAIN HINDERENCE IN THE EXHAUST, NOT THE CAT ITSELF. KNOW YOUR s*** BEFORE YOU TRY TO FLAME ME DICKHEAD.

BTW DO YOU OWN A MSP ? IF NOT DONT TRY TO FLAME SOMEONE WHO DOES, AND KNOWS THE FRIKIN CAR.

OHH AND IF YOULDVE READ MY WHOLE POST, YOU WOULDVE SEEN I EXPLAINED THIS ALREADY. NOW GET YOUR KNEES DIRTY AND (bj) ME.

OK a few things.....FM has done tests and dyno runs of the BEGI kit with a 2.25" and 2.5" exhaust and found NO gains and the FM kit uses alot bigger turbo than what is in the MSP. For the levels of power the MSP pushes you won't see many gains over 2.25" Where you all will see power is turbo upgrade for one that T25 is way to small for any car that isn't a Yugo, intercooler upgrade which appartently is in the works now.Yes the Precat is probably causing some probablems also get rid of it if you can.....but I'm goign to be willing to bet after looking in the bay of a MSP that the O2 housing has very poor flow characteristics. My advice to anyone with an MSP one weekend take the O2 housing off and go to town with the dremel and port that thing out as much as you can....the less complex the angle the gasses have to escape the turbo the better.
