fmic HELP!

:
MSP
i am on spring break so i got some time to spend on my car,,,
i am planning on putting fmic this week,,,,
i need some help on the piping size,,,
what to go with 2.25" or 2.5" pipes?
what will work the best ?

yeah i red through that one already and few other ones i just dont know what piping size to go with..
2.5 seem to big for stock tubo and 2.25 are kinda small?
any comments about this will help thanx.

2.5 for 5 years no problem..at 8psi stock turbo and 1 year at 10..

wouldnt advise 10 psi.. atleast with out some type or air fuel controler.. but at 8 ran like a champ... only things my car had were j back exhaust 3" steed speed mani atp gate wideband relocated maf since 06 nalogy wires 1 step colder plugs.

blazin - with your mods, even 8is questionable without some sort of intercooler upgrade... with the steedspeed id say youre probably in the clear though.

OP if you have a midpipe and FMIC you should be good for 8psi. upgrade to the millenia PCV sold at protege garage for some turbo insurance.

i have a fmic.. for years now.. hmm maby i for got to list it.. thought the picture would answer that..

2.5 is bigger than you need, I went with it partially because it would make relocating the MAF easier (should I want to later), and partly because then I KNOW there are no restrictions in my system between the turbo and the TB.

Well, besides the Turbolife, it's been said that the MAM (which I have) is the best FMIC kit for our cars. My kit has several different sizes though out the whole thing. On the cold side it starts off I think 2.25 then in the fender moves up to a larger size that is equal to the MAF size. I think the MAF is 2.5 right?? the hot side is all the same size which is 2.25 I think
Looking back at my old threads it seems that the in/outlet on my chiller are 2.5. so that would make the hot side 2.5 and coldside 2.5 upgrading to 3?? I will say the cold pipes are equal to the intake mani size and maf size. and the hot side is equal to the turbo oulet size.

MAF is 2.75, TB is 2.5, turbo outlet is 2"

this is why there is no "one stop size answer"....

if anything you want a cold side that is slightly smaller than hot, this is to keep the velocity the same, because the denser air on the cold side takes up less space.
