FMIC + downpipe + tune= boom??

Seems like everyone with this combo has problems or goes boom boom .

Ive seen a few people with top mounts, downpipes, turbos, and tunes running well though.

Seems to me like the front mounts are recipe's for disaster even without upgraded turbos. Can someone explain to me what usually happens when these engines blow with these mods? Is it too much boost (couldn't a boost controller hold boost safely at 18) or is it the internals being too weak?

no it dosen't equal boom. it equals boom if you don't do it corerctly. i'm running 3.25" TMIC + downpipe and AP tune and my car has never run better. upgraded TMIC is about the same as FMIC so you'll be fine if you do that.

there is no "boom" formula.... unfortunately, there isn't a "safe" formula either at this time. Nobody knows why the "boom" happens just yet for sure AFAIK.

boom typically happens on cars with larger turbos. It happens more often of those cars that have not been tuned.
