FMIC and boost creep

Just a general "what if" question...

I am currently running a Cobb AP and a CS catless DP and MP. I, obviously, am seeing a bit of boost creep that isn't really "fixable" by tuning.

I've heard that FMIC's can cause a bit of pressure drop, also. I just bought a used CPE FMIC from a member here.

I was just wondering if the pressure drop from the FMIC would help take care of the slight boost creep issues...my thought is that if the pressure drop with the FMIC might balance out the slight overboost from the open exhaust. Wondering if anyone has experienced this, or if I should just try putting my catted MP back on.

Thanks!

i have a similar setup. cpe catless dp, cpe fmic.
i have no creep, and i rarely cut (stock ecu). so i guess the fmic probably would help your situation based upon what i have running in the car. but i've found that all of these cars behave differently. install the fmic and let us know.
also, let me know if you want the instructions, i think i have them in an email as a pdf. i got my fmic used as well.

That would be awesome if you could send those to me...I'm sure it'll make things much easier. If you can't PM it to me, let me know and I'll PM you my email address. I will be sure to let everyone know if it "fixes" the issue.

It should help, but porting the internal wastegate opening is the right way to fix the problem. Unfortunately, it's also a PITA.

what boost psi are you running and what does it creep to? I dont have an AP but with your setup on a stock turbo you should be able to tune out any creep(AP has boost control I assume). when I ran just intake/cattless DP/fmic I held 17psi all the way up but wouldnt creep, it would drop off slightly if anything since the turbo cant keep up

Target is 18, I believe. Creeps up over 19...sometimes 20. Travis@Cobb has said himself that it's not really possible to tune it out...especially if the WGDC is at 0% (WG wide open)

I dont understand the workings of atr but cant you just lower your target boost up in the top end of the map to like 17psi so it wont overshoot so much. Running 18psi you are right at the limit of the small ass wastegate so it has trouble controlling it. s*** why not just port the wg as mentioned above and that will do the trick. alot of work though
