Flowmaster Muffler

I myself would get a borla muffler I think they sound much better than flowmaster

But how do they compare in performance?

Well they are all straight through open pipes and are wide open. Magnaflow and Borla are also recognized for performing very well. Additionally, it's a muffler... once you go to an open flow design you are talking such negligible performance that no dyno or person would ever identify the difference in any way. There may be a cfm throughput difference but nothing you would ever see as far as the vehicle itself. I went from an extremely expensive HKS to the magnaflow and saw no difference other than it sounding much nicer.

And btw.. a flowmaster is not typically an open design, they still incorporate baffles and so forth and will likely perform the poorest of the three brands in discussion so far (assuming the baffling that is...)

The flowmaster is a baffled design but that doesn't necessarily equate to poor performance. If it's designed properly, a baffled muffler can actually perform better than an open flow. Not saying that it does, just that it can.
A poorly designed open flow (like a Cherry Bomb) can actually create turbulence and impede flow.

I could see a well designed multi-pass baffle design getting close to or performing better than terrible cherry bomb as you call it open muffler. They do offer far better sound suppression in may cases as well.

Turbulence isn't always bad... can actually result in a higer flow rate for certain conditions and less surface friction. Swirl polishing of valves is a good example.
