Florida MEET Like Old Times.......

Hey all you sunburnt dehydrated freaks!

Okay, so not to be posting this kinda thread again in the FL section, but we all know the FL scene has been anything but lively recently. I am not one to talk, as I have been less than talkative over here in the local scene. Anyway, I am inviting anyone who is interested in getting together at an unknown locale and an unknown date and time. I want this to be a good turnout and I am asking ALL FLORIDA members to meet up. The last meet that was successful I thought was the Ocala meet for Promazda at Don Garletts. That was some time ago! Anyway, here is what I know so far. Date, Location, Time, etc... is ALL TBA. I will probably be taking a series of polls to help dictate which is a better location for the masses. This is a non-sponsored meet, so no one is gonna ask for $$ from you or to join their club, it's just a friendly gathering of owners to swap the s***. hopefully we'll get the 20+ people I think we can. I know there's been a lot of talk of meets and lack of interest, but I'll give it another go.

Anyways, let me know your interests, locations you might think are good (please consider ppl coming from all over FL), activities, ideas, bs like that. As far as details for food, drinks, s*** like that.......nope....not gonna doit.....just BYOS (Bring Your Own s***).

Count me in! I did everything in my power to make the last promazda ocala meet, and I just couldn't get there. I'll make dam sure to make this one.

I am in too! The last meet was pretty overwhelming for me. I was not expecting that many people to be into Mazdas. I thought wrong.

Thanks for the thread, to keep it fresh and organized. Maybe down in Ocala or Orlando, closer to the guys waaaay down south to come up for, and not that far for us broke-ass Northern FL people to drive down. As far as food, BYO is best for sure. If we decide to roll to a place to eat, I am open for anything.

im in jacksonville id realy not rather go as far as orlando but as long as its not more then an 3 hour drive i guess i can make a sacrifice. me and some people are putting together a small meet down in gainsville around the 24th of july so if anyone is interested check out the "gainsville meet?" thread located here in the florida forum

I would say Orlando, that way everyone from the state drives about the same amount. This defintily could be cool, just give a good amount of notice.

not sure if this is a lame idea or what, but .... what about finding a park in O-Town, have everyone bring something and have a bg cookout??? Wekiva Spring for example. I've seen a few decient spots there for some pics too.

idk but once we meet up we have to atleast drive down one of the popular roads like international dr or somethin in a big group just so i can feel like a big time pimp for a mile or 2 haha

i would love to make it but im in school in NC for most of the year. im here in miami till the 24th of july. a meet in july would be great. even maybe some miami ppl wanna get together.

ok im up for a meet.... tomorrow i will be in orlando at the funk master flex show... then on the 17th i will be at Import Explosion... (danny u still thinking of coming to it? at Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando) but other than that saturdays are best for me to go somewhere for meets...

I voted Orlando out because I wasnt about to take 10+ cars into that mess of traffic.

I understand not alot of people like to go very far from home but keep in mind that the miami guys have had to travel more then 4 hours to get to the meets and I have been all over the state. I love driving my car so I dont mind going any where. Ive pretty much given up on most of the tampa and the orlando people for our meets. None of them seem like they want to leave their town.
We can throw something together at a park or something. They guys in miami meet at markham park and they cook out and play football and such, its a great time! One I love driving to get to. Sometimes we have to make sacrifices...Ive made many.

this is the problem. you don't want to go as far as orlando? it is 2 hours from you. what is the big deal driving 2 hours? your whole post contradicts itself. most of the people in the state live south of orlando and you want to have a good meet without even going to orlando? (uhm)

i wont be able to make that because the 17th is DUB show here in miami beach convention center. i didnt find this out till recently

well im not driving back the 24th. the 24th im going on vacation so that will be the last day im free for a meet since im leaving right after my vacation which will be august 1st or 2nd. But we can meet up whenever. whos going to DUB on the 17th ?

I am starting to go the car meet by the old UC7 (Orlando) on Weds with my friend to talk with the 240 guys. I guess I could drive my MSP up there, I don't anyone to see it till it's all put together tho..

Okay, so the interest is still there i see, but the commitment is the question. I hear Motegi loud and clear and I understand what she points out. It's not like we all live in RI or something, we all live in FL which is HUGE! So we all need to make sacrifices, bar none. Now to help things out a little (i know we've been down this road before but bear w/ me on this.) Go ahead and make a list of your usename and location you will most likely be coming to. I think we have to consider everyone here, and I don't think that anyone would have a problem with a scenario to where if there was a majority of ppl in S. Florida vs. N. FL, and a significant group in CFL, then perhaps meeting somewhere in the middle eg Vero or Sarasota. If that was the case, and the N. Florida guys had to drive a bit longer, then maybe we'll spot their lunch for them or something. Just to keep everyone happy. Bottom line is this. How much do you really want/care about getting a group together? If you want to but don't wanna drive, then maybe you don't really wanna meet up. I am prepared to drive to Miami (sorry, not Key West!) or Jacksonville. Whatever we decide, lets play it fair as possible.

1st things 1st....where would you all be coming from. This is in no way a commitment to say YEA I am coming, b/c I could give 2 s**** right now Just lemme know the info!
