Fixing ALC so it can be defeated in AUX/Media mode

So anyone figured out how to fix the fact that ALC doesn't turn off in Aux? I just picked up a iPod dock from Griffin and ALC Is driving me crazy. I got to thiink its some software bug. I can't imagine why they would leave it on in a particular input. It's a global setting for all other inputs.
