first one to post here, any one know anybody who has the 1.8l?? all i see is 1.6l and 2.0l guys..

Well, the 1.8L did have the lowest production run of ANY of the 3rd gen engines....Plus most 2.0L parts are interchangeable...this whole section screams redundancy.

yeah ive got the 1.8L in my 2000 ES...

Im actually in the market for an intake...someone's selling an AEM sri from a 2.0L P5, if I did my homework right, this should fit in my engine as well, right?

Yes. I have no idea which model i have, but it has a 1.8.

I dunno, maybe its because we're in different parts of the world, but when it comes to car and model choice, Australia sucks balls.

I welcome anyone who can tell me what the **** it is that i drive exactly.

BTW, dont get me wrong. I love the car. I just dont know which protege it is lol.

i have a 1.8

Well i have a 1.8 es 2k pro, And boy its been fun hooking it up its been down for about 7 months. Why? because i did pistons, rods, piggyback, turbo and auto to manual swap of corse alot of other things. But here is my question, can any of you take a pic or tell me how the vacuum lines go on the two silanoids on top of the intake manifold go. its been so long and im not quite sure and im tring to tune my car.

Hey i got a 1.8L automatic transmission in my 2000 ES. Do any of yall know it a 2.0L 5spd transmission will fit my 1.8L engine? I know yall say parts are interchangeable so it should. Right? I wanna get rid of my automatic transmission.

ive got the 2.0 5spd's intake on my 2000ES auto and its def NOT a perfect fit, it may fit, but it will definately take a little inginuety on your part...as you know, our transmission is HUGE compared to the 1.6L and 2.0L manual, so if you can get it to match up i would bet it would work, but bolting it down may pose a problem

that's a big no...the 1.8L used the f series transmission, the 2.0L used the g series

i dont see why not, the 2.0 bolts the the 1.8 tranny, i dont see why it wouldnt work.. its just geared differant iifc...

Does that mean that the 1.8L auto is a lil stronger then the 2.0L auto? Can it handle more hp?

nope same weak ass tranny , good for about 160whp.. all 3rd gens and mazda 3 use the same auto tranny.. just differant bell houseings to bolt to the block..
