First Mazdaspeed in the Midwest (Maybe)

I just got a phone call my dealer just got 3 of them in I'm going
to test drive after work and if I like I just might take 1 home. If they make me a good ofter on my MP3. If there is not a big difference in power I just might wait and see whats next for mazdaspeed. (thumb) (yippy) (shocked)

i've been thinking about getting one because the there is a mp3 for 12 grand with 13 thousand miles on it, and if not i wanna get the speed, tell me what you think is better because i drove the speed, but never the mp3

the salesguy said they were getting some oranges and blacks in a few days.

I am happy with my mp3. I just need more power. It's really not super slow and is really fun to drive. I just want to see if there is a big difference in power, but after this winter i'm thinking about getting a SUV, the mp3 does not go anywhere in the snow it sucks really bad, and snow tires do not help. I don't think the mazdaspeed will do any better in the snow, but it does look really sharp. I didn't get to test drive last night they didn't have the paper work done so I will drive it tonight after work. But I did get to get a really good look at it and I really like it. Just don't know which I like more orange or black.

My Friend....no offense, but you don't know what snow is.....I do, and I can get around just fine with a set of cheap winters tires on. Granted, I don't go driving around in 3 feet of snow....at least not all the time but little blue ( as my woman calls it ) does just fine.

Believe it or not some SUV's are actually worse in the snow then a small front drive car. Slip and slide everywhere. Ever driven an older jimmy in the snow....CRAP

Sorry I disagree I also have a 2001 Trans Am that did better in the snow the my MP3.

Hi MP3intheSTL, 1st in Mid-west?? Well, there are several in Michigan already, I got mine last Friday.

As for snow.... let me make it clear. the Potenza's are lethal on ice/snow - you MUST get winter tires! I could not get out of our subdivision this morning because of packed snow on a dirt road! I just got 15" Michelin's installed on cheap Fondmetal rims (only $7 more than steel), fingers crossed these will work out - fitment was very tight.

Um, it's basically the tires that determine a vehicle's level of traction in the snow, weight and drivetrain aside.

My Saturn was terrible in the snow on the stock tires, but a set of Michelin Arctic Alpins in a proper size (tall and narrow) completely changed that. I have traction galore in the snow, now. Whenever we get a good dump of snow I can't wait to get out and do some winter rallying.

MSP - Snow Tires

I hope you are right, those are the tires I just had installed must have got the last four in the state! I called around all the tire stores in Metro Detroit and found 2 at one store, walked in and bought them, and drove 50 miles the other way to install them at a place that had the other 2 - AND they had fairly decent and cheap rims (fondmetal 6200's) on sale.

I'll soon find out how they do on packed snow covering icy dirt roads tonight. I will report my findings to the forum - anyone in the snow belt waiting for delivery of their MSP should consider sourcing themselves a set of winter tires now before they are all sold out.

i'm sure there are many krillins out there. i only know of one other krillin that played online that people used to mistaken me for. i played (and still play once in awhile) quake 3 rocket arena for clan NyX. i'm still in NyX but i'm inactive because of work and stuff. so if you've played quake on any west coast servers then you've prolly seen me. i think i'm the only one that plays as "krillin" in quake, seeing how nobody likes the character "krillin" cuz he always gets his ass kicked in the cartoon.

Ok, let me repeat this one last time...

There are winter tires

There are summer tires

The tires that come on ANY Protege's are NOT winter tires.

Therefore, from the statement above I derive the conclusion that the STOCK tires on all protege's suck in the winter.

Why?

Because their not WINTER TIRES.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!


I hope you realize I'm joking guys. Been one of those days. All joking aside, anyone that considers driving with 45z rated tires, or 50's in snow needs their head examined for pure stupidity syndrome.

The winter tires were exceptional, except the tire place put 2 195/55's on one side of the car and 195/60's on the other!! Lets just say it pulled to one side! Why is everything so bloody complicated.

Glad to say they rectified the situation and with 4 x 195/55-15's everything is cool. And the tech that did the re-install is mazdamp3_18 (Hi Chris!)

Yes, I drove it and I do like it alot you can tell a big difference on the low end when shifting to 2nd it pulls really nice. I didn't get to see what it had because my salesperson road with me but shes cool and really HOT!!! Anyway the radio is sounds unbelivable. But I don't like the sparco knob it's to small.
So they offered me 14,000 for my MP3 (paid off) and sticker is 20,500 (on the mazdaspeed) no markup, and I will put 2,500 down so I only borrow $4,000 for 24 months at 3.9% make double payments a month and have it pay for in one year.
OH and they will give me 1 year free oil changes and car washs. COOL. so I am thinking I am going to pick it up tonight or wait for to see one in black.

What do you guys and gals think Orange or Black?
